Brightness buttons don't work and ALC298 I can't get to work. Can you fix either with DSDT patching? Thanks.

I believe I have solved the USB port limit issue. My original post was "Trying to finish an install in Alienware 17 R5 17-8759h GTX1070 + HD630 ALC 3266 (ALC298) Samsung 840 Pro SSD QHD Problems I need to fix Audio (ALC298) There are various fixes but I have not been able to figure out how to apply them correctly USB ports not recognizing flash usb or usb mouse/keyboard EDIT <- fixed Brightness keys Not sure if these can be fixed be DSDT patches alone..." If no SSxx ports were identified as used which ones should I exclude?

Thanks, Still no response to USB 3. I tried a USB 3 flash drive, then wondered if it was 3.0 or 3.1. So I tried the steps again with a HDD connected via a USB 3.0 cable and still no response. It’s unclear if the last two boot flags are to remain at the final step. I have included them, not sure if I did last time, I think not. So it looks like “-uia_exclude_ss -uia_exclude_hs uia_include=HS01;HS02;HS04;HS07;HS09;HS14” Where 1,2,4,7,9,14 were all the used ports found. No response to USB 3.0/3.1 drive after reboot with those flags either. (Is it possible that kexts in L/E might interfere with this process?) Send me As-MacBook-Pro 2.zip Clover.zip

Thanks, perhaps it was how I inserted multiple boot flags. So, for "- add these 2 boot flags a. -uia_exclude_ss b. -uia_exclude_ssp" I input "-uia_exclude_ss -uia_exclude_ssp" So my question is do I just need a space between boot flags or is there another method to input?

I think I've done both of those now. There was no response to my USB 3.0 drive in the ports test (works on other macos machine). Rebooted and attached new files. Send me As-MacBook-Pro 2.zip Send me CLOVER.zip

Thanks. I have unticked those boxes and rebooted, then generated send me zip. Zip file is too large to upload. Added in 23 minutes 14 seconds: Unzipped and rezipped into 4 files. *EDIT* USB fix above did not work for my USB 3 problem. I can now use usb mouse inputs though. Thank you, not sure I understand fully though. What do I do with the code in the "CODE: SELECT ALL" box? Added in 24 minutes 23 seconds: With "CODE: SELECT ALL" I ticked boxes in clover configurator which matched. There was only entries for the first change in each. So ""change GFX0 to IGPU 47465830" but not "49475055" etc. Added the dsdt.aml to patched. I did not remove any files from - even a file named "DSDTyuan.dsl" Did not attempt the USB fix yet.
