I'm not seeing the proper locations on the file explorer after hitting F12. Should this be done after restarting the system? I've gone into the repair utility and recreated the virtual 35GB partition to install to. Seems to be working. For anyone else, if you see the below at the boot manager you need to go into the disk utility, delete the 35GB virtual HDD partition and recreate it using the mac OS.
