Yes. That seemed to be my problem. I am still new to using clover. On my Yosemite USB installer, I still have chameleon/chimera and it's was my no-fail boot option when I was first testing out clover. So I tired that DSDT.aml on my USB, and sure enough, it booted right up and showed the battery percentage. So then I relaized that it was one of my Clover boot options that was stopping me. I still need to read up a bit more about SSDT dropping, But I know that I unchecked the option for SSDT _DSM, around the time it started showing the battery with Clover boots. Now it looks like I just need to rework a few SSDTs. One for power managment and the other to bring back my brigness slider. This laptop is powerful but the battery life is sad, and not just because of me running OS X and Linux but Windows users with the same exact model are saying the same thing. The dismal battery life is really my only complaint so far, but I can live with it.
