I have a question (maybe a dumb one)- I have two hard drives- 120gd ssd for Windows 8.1 & 1tb mechanical for storage & Mac osx. Does the Mac OSX hard drive have to be a special format? The files/hard drive be accessible in Windows?

I'm wanting to run Windows 8.1 and Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9 on my Clevo W230SS/NP7338 laptop (on separate hard drives). Is there anything special I need to know about this? I think I need the moded bios (PermaBios) but are there any other special points? Thanks
