  1. I'm not sure my DSDT is working properly. I grabbed another dump using an Ubuntu Live CD along with SSDT's. I confirmed via bdmesg that the DSDT and SSDT are being loaded and that P/C states are generated but the computer fails to restart/sleep properly. It does shutdown just fine though. Booting up is good except when the desktop is displayed any use of the mouse and keyboard is delayed by as much as 5 mins.
  2. Trying to rebuild my DSDT but when I try to apply the patches for GA-965P-S3 I get the following error. I created the DSDT in ML when no DSDT was currently being used. What is also interesting is when I boot up to the desktop I have to wait about 5 minutes before I can use any mouse/keyboards. After that machine works fine until I have to restart/shutdown; those 2 functions don't seem to work. I have Generate P/C states enabled and USB Bus Fix enabled. 11:05:44: DSDT selected: /dsdt.aml 11:05:51: Patch selected: /Users/andre/Downloads/GA 965P-S3.txt 11:05:55: Decompiling DSDT... 11:05:55: Parsing DSL code... 11:05:56: Applying patches... 11:05:57: Saving the new DSL file... 11:05:57: Compiling and checking compiler errors... 11:05:57: First compile errors: 7 11:05:57: Fixing errors... 11:05:58: Second compile errors: 6 11:05:58: Compiling again... 11:05:58: Third compile errors: 6 11:05:58: Errors persisted all fixing tentatives, please post this log at Olarila.com forums [[Line 3245 type Error message Name already exists in scope (LPC0)], [Line 3248 type Error message Name already exists in scope (AG3E)], [Line 4214 type Error message Name already exists in scope (_DSM)], [Line 4566 type Error message Name already exists in scope (BUS0)], [Line 4569 type Error message Name already exists in scope (_ADR)], [Line 4574 type Error message Object is not accessible from this scope (_DSM)]] 11:05:58: Aborted, compilation failed dsdt.aml.zip
  3. That didn't work but I did go back and re-enabled the nic in the bios and tried my Live Linux CD. Network card appeared to be working so I took a gamble and installed the kext. No more freeze ups. Weird. I'm now able to log into iCloud.
  4. I do have that kext but I think I have a defective hardware NIC as when I install that kext now my system freezes or will stop booting up. Once I remove the kext my system works fine. I've used this same kext before so I know its not a corrupt kext. I really do think there is something wrong with this onboard nic. I guess I could solve this with a PCI nic card but trying to get this resolved using a USB nic for now.
  5. After playing around with this for a bit I'm seeing that my only NIC (the USB Nic) is showing as IOBuiltin as false under NetworkInterfaces.plist. Even setting it to True and rebooting sets it back to false. I guess my ask here is how do I make this USB Nic set to true for IOBuiltIn? I do have EthernetBuiltin option set. What DSDT modifications do I need to do? Edit: I dumped another DSDT using Ubuntu Live CD but when I use this DSDT I get a kernel panic about 10 seconds or so after the desktop is shown. I also did not see any reference to any RealTek devices (not my USB Nic nor my Audio chipset). dsdt2.aml.zip
  6. I had to rebuild my machine due to a faulty onboard nic. As a result I'm currently using a RealTek chipset usb wireless nic. I built my DSDT with the onboard nic so my DSDT does not have this nic's information. I believe due to this I'm not able to have these applications work. What I have done is the following: Generate a UDID and add it to the smbios.plist Remove the network plist to have it generate a new one Use Chameleon Wizard to generate a new Serial Use prebuild smbios in Chameleon Wizard Using Chameleon 2.1 r1998 Still no dice. I have read in another thread where someone was able to resolve this by setting their usb nic as eth0 and this resolved the issue but I have not had luck in contacting them. Attached is my IOReg dump and DSDT if anyone can help with this. DSDT-IOReg.zip
  7. After my build died due to filesystem corruption I have spent countless hours trying to reinstall Lion. I've narrowed it down to a faulty nic (onboard nic). Every time I try to rebuild iAtkos L2 with the drive for this nic the machine fails to boot into the desktop. Even if I install Lion without this kext at first and install later the machine just freezes. So I got around that by using a USB wireless NIC (RealTek RTL8192SU which I obtained the drives from http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=48&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true#2317 directly). Now my machine can not sleep (Screen goes black and drives appear to shutdown but fans still continue to run). I do not have any USB3 drivers installed and for Audio I'm using patched ALC8xx and Rollback kexts (From multishit) with proper DSDT coding. My guess is it may be the wireless drivers that could be causing this but I'm not certain as I did obtain them directly from RealTek. Attached are a kextstat dump and my dsdt. dsdt.aml.zip kextstat10.7.4.zip Muito Obregado Edit: I fixed this issue, forgot what I did but its no longer an issue.
  8. Yep, no more that 5 minutes posting I found I had hdaenabler kept. Weird it was working fine before with SL. Right now working like butter. Thanks for the tips.
  9. I knew it was too good to be true. Upgraded my SL to Lion (via iAtkos L1), updated to 10.7.2. Proceeded to install the AppleHDA rollback as my DSDT is set to use ALC888 (as it has been working in SL and tested in another install of Lion). But now I have no audio and System Profiler shows as having 885 ID (even though DSDT is configured for 888). ARGH! Any ideas?
  10. Sure enough thats what it was. Removed the kext, ran kextutil and I was then able to sleep. Installed the kext I had in my SL build and drives appeared and was still able to sleep. Back in action.
  11. Actually I thought about this today and you may be onto something here. When I was trying to get this card working in SL I had a similar problem. My SL I used retail and a modified Lacie driver for usb3. For Lion I used iAtkos L1 which included a usb3 driver. Not exactly the same one I have with SL so I will try to remove it and see if it does the trick.
  12. I have a pcie card. This rig works fine with Snow Leopard. Same driver too.
  13. I have this board, rev. 3.3, and after doing all the codec dumps I realized that the board actually uses ALC888, not ALC883. Have you tried bin patching for this chipset? You may have better results (with the modified DSDT). Here is my DSDT if you care to try. dsdt.aml.zip
  14. Ola Maldon. You helped me get SL working smoothly and now with Lion I almost have it fully working except for sleep. Audio, graphics (32bit because its a Geforce 7300 series) and networking all work. When I attempt to put it to sleep I just get a black screen, everything else stays running. I double click the mouse button and the screen comes back and the computer runs as normal. Sleep just will not work. I have removed nullcpupowermanagement and also bin patched AppleRTC to no avail. I am using iAtkos L1 build. Please find the attached dsdt, kernel log and kextlist dsdt.aml.zip kernel_log.rar kextstat.rar
