  1. Oh, really? this update will replace my previous mach_kernel as well? When I update from 10.9.0 to 10.9.1 only my applehda that need to be re-installed so I have no experience replace or reinstall my mach_kernel. I Google it but still no luck on how to replace or install my mach_kernel after a combo update. I'm not using multishit whatsoever since the beginning of my installation, I only use the image from this forum and patch manually one by one whatever kext that need to be patched. Any help how to perform this action will be appreciated. Maybe can be useful also for anyone else out there that have the same problem. Thanks a lot!
  2. Hi guys, Just quick question: I have Dell XPS L502x running 10.9.1 smoothly without any problem. Just wondering, is it safe if I want to update to 10.9.4 via apple combo update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1755 ? Did anyone having some issue after updating? any experience worth to share please? Btw, I use Chameleon bootloader in this case. Thanks a lot!
  3. Just to confirm, might be useful for someone else. The update with combo update 10.9.1 is work and safe. just beware to backup your working kext in S/L/E. in my case, after update with combo 10.9.1 my patched AppleHDA was replaced. so, I just need to reinstall my patched AppleHDA and good to go!
  4. Hi, thanks for the hints! Yeah, Im just afraid that new combo update will wipe all my patched kexts in the S/L/E folder. I will make a back up of my patched kexts and will do the combo update *finger crossed*
  5. So, do you think that I can install it without any problem to my current installation? Or do I need to install again some kext? because I patch some kexts to make it work in my system, for example AppleIntelCpuPowerManagement kext, etc. When install this combo update, I worried that it will wipe away my patched kext in the S/L/E directory or may be in another place. Thanks for help
  6. Hi guys, I installed 10.9 GM (http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=3836) on my laptop and running smoothly until now. I use chameleon as the bootloader. And Apple released 10.9.1 already. I find the combo update on their site: http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL1707/en_US/OSXUpd10.9.1.dmg It it okay if update my current system using this combo update? Any guidance really appreciated, since I get the installer file is from this forum, so maybe any advice that I can follow when I want to update my system using this combo update. Thanks a lot guys
  7. Hi Guys, I have a XPS laptop (L502x) running on Mavericks with PCI based SD Card. vendor is jmicron (venID: 0x197B and DevID: 2391), and I used this kext ftp://driver.jmicron.com.tw/CardReader/MAC_OS_X/SD/ but not really works properly. it ONLY work with one condition: you need to plug-in the SD Card before booting into OSX. Is there any work around that can make my SD card recognized on the fly (not have to plug-in before booting)? or maybe there is/are kext(s) that I can try? It's bit painful to always reboot OSX just to get something from my camera's SD card Any help really appreciated and thanks a lot guys!
  8. How about if I change or migrate my bootloader in my current installation to clover? is it possible to do that? or it not worth rather that just do the clean installation from beginning?
  9. Hi, unfortunately I use Chameleon. Do you mean I need to do it all over again by creating USB installer with latest build and reinstall again? oh man Is there any work around without sacrificing my current installer that already running? is there any tutorial that I can read and follows? Thanks a lot!
  10. Hi, Is there any way/ clue to update from 10.9 GM (Build 13A598) to 10.9 (Build 13A603)? I have 10.9 GM (Build 13A598) running okay (except the sleep) in my laptop and wondering if anybody already made an attempt to update to the latest mavericks build? Thanks a lot!
  11. Hi pernacabeluda, Sorry just out of town for business thing, just get my hand on this stuff again Thanks for the kext, that's really saving my day. It's works like charm. really thanks man! woo hoo I did post install as mentioned in this forum as well and went smoothly. Next step is I want to enable my speed step feature and sleep enabler. I tried to remove NULLCPUM and replace it with hacked AICPUM from 10.8 and using my DSDT but I've got famous KP: Speed step ERROR on blabla I set generate c-states and/or p-states on my chameleon as well, but still no luck. just stuck with above KP. any suggestion that worth to try? Thanks again! this forum rock!
  12. Hi thanks for the kext, i replaced it and boot with -f and the kernel panic is gone. A progress at least. But stuck here: http://i.tinyuploads.com/aMs22N.jpg I can see my mouse pointer here and I can move it around. seems that I just dont have graphic here somehow. what do you think? I tried to boot with -f npci=0x2000 or 0x3000 but still no luck. Any suggestion? Thanks.
  13. Hi, Thanks for the advice and I did that right away. I boot in single user mode (in chameleon) and remove kext that you mentioned: fsck -fy mount -uw / mkdir /kext_backup cd /System/Library/Extensions mv AppleIntelHD* AppleIntelSNB* AppleIntelFramebuffer* AMDRadeon* ATI* GeForce* NVDA* /kext_backup rm ../Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcache reboot then I boot with -v GraphicsEnabler=yes or no and stuck here: http://i.tinyuploads.com/D3xfjF.jpg Then I try another boot option with -v -f -x and then I've got kernel panic, here's the picture: http://i.tinyuploads.com/wrap2e.jpg Im not sure that this is related to the SMC or IOACPI thingy. do you have any suggestion? Thanks
  14. Hi, Finally I manage to install Chameleon successfully and create the "Extra" folder in my USB root directory and then put the Preboot.dmg in it. Finally I can boot to my USB. However my boot stuck in a black screen. I already try several boot options: Verbose mode Ignore boot cache GUI 32-bit Force 64bit Busratio = 20 boot GrahicsEnabler= yes or no PCIRoot=1 But still stuck in blackscreen. Here's my screen shoot before in enter the black screen forever: http://i.tinyuploads.com/8jpJUz.jpg Do you have any idea what caused my problem? I read in another forum about giving patch to mavericks on MBR http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/145-mavericks-mbr-patch/ Do I need to do this?
  15. Great, I will give a try. Thanks! UPDATE: I follow your instruction: format my USB stick with Disk Utility and make a MBR partition and I restore the .dmg file successfully. Then next step I download Chameleon 2.2 svn r2266 (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/59-chameleon-22-svn/) and also the preboot.dmg file. However when I install Chameleon targeting to my USB stick I've got the following error: Install Failed. The installer could not install some files in "/ Volumes/USBinstaller". Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I google it and try to figure it out what causing the problem but still no luck. Do you have any idea what the problem that I'm facing? I'm sure that my USB stick still fine (not hardware related problem because I can still see the restored OSX in my USB stick). I just got that error message from Chameleon installer. Thank a lot for helping me out!
  16. Oh okay that's the problem with my boot then. So there's no way that I can boot this 10.9 GM release? Or is it possible to modify this 10.9 GM to MBR partition scheme? like you guys did for 10.8 release. Thanks.
  17. Hi thanks for the advice, The problem is my bios doesnt have the option to set/change boot mode UEFI/legacy. But only said "its support secure boot" (this used to support windows 8 installation) http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19473013.aspx. Is there any advice that I can work around? I try 10.8 USB boot (http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=1627) and it can boot and works fine. is it using a different boot mechanism than this 10.9 GM?
  18. Hi, Yes, I have already set the partition become active, and its primary as well. but still stuck in "Operating system not found". I dont know what you mean with "use another file in the USB" did you have another 10.9 GM version reelase? the Install USB.raw file I downloaded had the same MD5 with your release on the website (and ThePirateBay). Is there any patch like you gave to this? http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2238 because some people had the "Operating system not found" problem and its fixed by this patch. Thanks,
  19. Hi, I just downloaded the OS X 10.9 Install USB.RAW from TPB (md5 = 3236daa1ae495a71b6c7c64f9322abc7, and Its match with the original on the website) but had a problem with it. After wrote it to my USB stick using SUSE imagewriter and set my bios boot to USB and I got this message: "Operation System Not Found" and stuck. Im not in the boot menu yet. just stuck there. I already set my USB partition as a Primary & Active Partition but still no luck with the same error message. I also press the key 1 after selecting USB boot but still got the same message. My BIOS doesnt have UEFI/legacy setting, but it said in the website support secure boot (for windows8). I read another thread here http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=2238 there is a patch for previous release 10.8x) that have the same problem. but as far as I know there's no patch available for this 10.9 GM release. My laptop specs: Dell XPS L502x (ACPI x64-based PC) Intel Cougar Point HM67, Intel Sandy Bridge Mobile QuadCore Intel Core i7-2760QM, 3200 MHz (32 x 100) Intel HD Graphics 3000 NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (2 GB) 4GB RAM Any idea what's going on here? I will appreciate any help/ suggestion/ solution. Thanks a bunch!
