Thanks Cassio! With the kext you linked I could finally boot in 64-bit mode. And I've compiled a DSDT that seems to run just fine. I must have done something wrong last time I tried to patch DSDT since I got no errors this time, only a few warnings. But that is normal, right? I didn't use the "Duallink" patch for my HD 3000. What does it do?

Seems I have to abandon the dsdt idea until I can find a working next to enable my trackpad and keyboard in 64-bit as it is needed for the patched AICPUPM in Lion since it's 64-bit only. So far I've been using a VoodooPS2controller.kext that runs only in 32-bit and all the others I've tried have failed to get them working at all. Would the system run ok with a patched DSDT run if I still used NullCPUPowerManagement.kext (except for sleep and speed stepping of course)? And is it normal to end up with errors when compiling the DSDT? When I tried to patch my DSDT with the k53e patch I ended up with 7 errors.

Easybeast installed these kexts: FakeSMC.kext LegacyAppleRTC.kext EvOreboot.kext JMicron36xATA.kext AHCI_3rdParty_SATA.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext IOUSBFamily.kext, IOUSBMassStorageClass.kext (USB Rollback) And I have since installed these: VoodooBattery.kext (for working battery display) VoodooHDA.kext (2.7.2, for audio) AppleHDADisabler.kext (as far as I can see, needed for running VoodooHDA) AtherosFix.kext (to enable my Atheros wi-fi) RealtekRTL81xx.kext (for the LAN) VoodooPS2Controller.kext (to enable the laptops keyboard)

I've read and read, but I'm so unsure of with patches I need to use. Any chance of helping me out here? EDIT: Found the links to the different dsdt patch packs and found one for K53E, wich is the same motherboard as K53SC so I should be able to use this to patch my dsdt. I'll have to try this on my dsdt.aml I dumped via Ubuntu yesterday when I get home. I have a working system at the moment via installed using easybeast. I was kind of hoping to get speedstepping and sleep to work. I also have trouble shutting down from inside of OSX as it seems to reboot instead of shutting down. What kexts installed by easybeast should I get rid of to get these things working via dsdt instead? NullPowerManagement is a given amd I know I have to patch AICPUPM for speedstepper.

Had some trouble uploading the dsdt.aml, but it's there now. If you tell me how to get the kernel log, kextstat output and an ioreg dump I'll gladly supply them also.
