  1. I had a spare 2gb and 1 gb (of the same brand) which i don't used. I replace the 2 gb + 512 mb that was installed in my laptop. It's a totally new hardware since i remove both the 2 gb/512 mb (brand X) to the 2 gb + 1 gb (brand Y). Both 2 gb combo don't work, i get kernel panic that is why i settled for the 2 gb + 1 gb (brand Y) combo. My question is do i need to rebuild my existing dsdt for this hardware change. The reason I asked is I sometimes get system crashes using my DSDT, but removing my DSDT I don't have crash. How do I go about rebuilding process? Thanks
  2. Hi, thanks again.I did a thorough testing and this is what happened: -tried enabled usb legacy in bios and booted with the dsdt.aml you sent me. -when sleep is triggered i have to wait atleast 2 minutes for sleep to activate. that is when power led begins to blink and all fans die down. I am able to attain sleep. -pressing power button wakes it, but the problem is the system is unresponsive once awaken. you can move mouse but clicking something results in indefinite spinning wheel. usb mouse stops responding also. Note: ony my usb wifi dongle does not work with usb legacy enabled in bios. all others work and with; - legacy disabled in bios , once sleep is triggered it results in black screen only and never reaches sleep mode even after several minutes of waiting. Note: my usb wifi dongle only works in disabled usb legacy in bios. all others work . And this is the setting i used. You are right it seems to be my usb is causing the sleep problems. I hope you can still help me. thanks
  3. hi, thanks for the reply. On my bios i disabled legacy because it does not work well with it enabled. How do I send my ioreg file. I tried attaching it but this forum does not allow ioreg extensions. update: here it is in zip format. MSI-Mountain Lion.ioreg.zip
  4. hi, i am running mountain lion but with a usb wifi dongle. my builtin wifi (rtl-8187se) does not have 64 bit drivers. Anyone here found a solution. Thanks.
  5. Thank you sir. Will test it now. and let you guys know if it was successful. Update: Tried it but it still would not wake from sleep. once it goes to sleep it never wakes up. The good thing is I now have two options under the battery power management. - put hard disk to sleep when available - slightly dim the display while on battery power (<--- this was added when dsdt.aml was put in extra folder which i think is a good thing. atleast it is in the right direction) Will putting "GeneratePState=Yes" and "GenerateCStates=Yes" in boot.plist be good in solving sleep problem? Thanks. Hoping to solve sleep.
  6. hi, i have succesfully installed mountain lion on a msi cr400x laptop (core 2 duo). I have everything running fine except sleep and speedstep. I have full graphics acceleration on my geforce 8200m (injected efi strings), using voodooHDA for my sound (alc622), wifi is usb dongle from realtek ( on board rtl-8187se does not have 64 bit drivers), camera works using cam twist (detects bison cam nb pro). Shutdown, restart works.Sleep does not work ( i tried it and it never wakes up). Speedstep I don't know if it is working or not ( did not do anything about it during install). My request is a patch dsdt so sleep and speedstep work. Thanks. Send me MSI-Mountain Lion.zip
  7. Thanks for the quick reply. My video work only in 32 bit mode.My problem is after the moungtain lion has completed the installation, once i reboot, after seeing the apple logo spinning, it ends with a black screen. Anyway thanks for clearing things up. DSDT has nothing to do with the install process.
  8. hi , i have a msi laptop intel core 2 duo nforce mcp79 chipset with geforce 8200m video card. I have successfully installed snow leopard on it using iatkos s3 v2. all works well after applying the proper kext (except sleep). My request is to have a working dsdt.aml so that i can install Mountain lion. I tried 2 distro's , Myhack mountain lion on usb and iatkos ml2 on dvd and usb. Myhack fails when booting usb installer as i always get "pci configuration begin". I tried every boot strings i could muster and nothing works. Iatkos ml2 usb installer has the same problem as the myhack installer. Now with Iatkos ml2 dvd installer I was able to boot into the install menu using bootstrings "UserKernelCache=No -v -x". The installation completed after selecting necessary fields in the customize section . The problem is when i reboot after the installation ,it goes black screen. I did a -v at boot and everything seems to load fine until the end when the screen would just turn black. I think it is cause by a video driver not loading properly. Could I request a patch for my dsdt to enable my video to work. thanks Send me Raul Bucad’s MacBook Pro.zip
