Hey arthur-pt, thanks for the dsdt edit. I basically re did my entire dsdt by using all the ivy bridge patches, i believe the dsdt patch i was using for my motherboard was made sometime in 2011. After i did that and copied your _dsm section that you edited for duallink and device injection, i was able to boot into osx, but without acceleration. I deleted the injection portion under _dsm and did a device properties hex string into chameleon.boot.plist. I tried the one that originally worked for me (0x03) but that wouldnt work. I eventually found one that worked, 0x04, but it dropped from 512mb to 384mb. I am fine with that as i have full acceleration and scored a 12298 on geekbench. If there is a way to get it back to 512mb please let me know. Thanks, Mo

Hey arthur-pt, when i used your dsdt my system would not boot. So i took the _DSM section from under GFX0 from the dsdt you created and added it to my old dsdt that worked fine before i upgraded the lcd. Doing that allowed my system to boot with a 1600x900 resolution, but i lost hd4000 acceleration. Before i upgraded i was using the "device-properties" flag in chameleon and had the 01 66 00 03 id hex string. When using the _dsm section i put it as 0x03, and i deleted the string from the .boot.plist, but im still unable to get acceleration. Is it possible that i would have to use a different id? i have tried 01, 02, 03, 04 without any changes. Btw, i dont know if this would make a difference but i forgot to mention my system has a hd4000 and a nvidia gt650m 2gb. Also is there any way to disable it so it wont consume power. I cant do it in bios Any ideas? Thanks, Mo

Hey can someone help me patch my dsdt for my alienware m14x r2, with i7-3630qm and a intel hd4000. I need it patched with the following : dual link, platform id injection for intelhd4000 (0x03) and i believe dtgp is needed for the two previous patches. I cant get into OSX since i have a black screen after upgrading my lcd, so these files were taking through paragon hfs+ from windows. I Have attached the following files, DSDT.aml/DSDT.dsl = dsdt that was working for my computer before upgrading the lcd screen. It was patched using the alienwarem14x.txt file that was in the patches by motherboard section of this website. DSDTORIG.dsl = extracted an untouched .dsl has no patches whatsoever Alienwarem14x.txt = patch from Olarila.com chameleon.boot.plist = just my boot.plist Extra.zip

I tried to delete the original _dsm and I still have the blank screen. From my understanding, I need the dual link patch for any resolution above 1366x768. Maybe I am mistaken. My system ran great before I upgraded the LCD, I wanted a higher resolution screen. It works perfectly fine under windows 7. I had the Id injected into the device properties of the chameleon.boot.plist file. But since upgrading it just has a black screen. I also just tried 8 different dsdts with all of the 0166000* injects into my dsdt and it sti has a blank screen. Any other ideas?

Method (_DSM, 4, Serialized) { Name (DRET, Buffer (0x04) { 0x00 }) If (LEqual (Arg0, Buffer (0x10) { /* 0000 */ 0xE1, 0x75, 0x39, 0x6F, 0x82, 0x7A, 0x67, 0x4F, /* 0008 */ 0x8B, 0x97, 0x15, 0xBE, 0xE0, 0x60, 0xBE, 0xDF })) { If (LEqual (Arg2, Zero)) { CreateWordField (DRET, Zero, F0SS) Store (0x02, F0SS) Return (DRET) } If (LEqual (Arg2, One)) { If (LEqual (^^PEG0.PEGP.LNKV, 0x03)) { Return (Zero) } Return (One) } } Return (DRET) Thats my _dsm section under the GFX0, im sorry how do i combine the two. I am not the best when it comes to this stuff.

the 1660003 platform id worked perfect for me. I tried to do a duallink/platform id injection in dsdt but it still wont work. Maybe i did it wrong? I have attached the original dsdt, the edited dsdt with duallink and the patch i used. Can someone please help me? Files are, DSDT.aml/DSDT.dsl = dsdt's that i was using before i swapped the lcd. Everything worked great DSDTORIG.dsl = extracted a fresh dsdt using dsdt editor duallink = the patch i used to inject the duallink/platform-id alienwarem14x.txt = the patch i used from Olarila to patch my dsdt DSDTpatched.aml/.dsl = the DSDT that worked great before swapping lcds, that is patched using the duallink patch. When i patched it there was an error that said _dsm already exists. So under the GFX0 section i deleted the _dsm method that was causing a conflict. Basically i guess the patch created a new _dsm so i just removed the older entry. Maybe this is the reason why? Extra.zip

Hey guys, I have an alienware m14xr2 with a 1366x768 lcd and an intelhd4000. I had the intel hd4000 working perfectly with the the 1366x768 original lcd that came with the laptop. I wanted to upgrade my screen to a 900P screen (1600x900). I checked both my OSX and Win7 partitions before installing the lcd and they both loaded fine. I installed the lcd into the laptop and booted into windows 7 to verify it worked fine before putting the laptop together. I verified the resolution also and windows 7 was using 1600x900. Then i tried to boot into OSX (10.8.3) and it went to the chameleon screen, then apple screen popped up. After the pinwheel stopped spinning the screen flickered and went blank. I know the system is booted because i can hear the volume changer dinging. I have also tried all the efi strings for the intel hd4000 by creating copies of my chameleon.boot.plist file and loading it through boot flags when i launch my osx system. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I also cant boot into safe mode, the screen is still blank. I was thinking of removing the intelhd4000 kexts but was looking for any other suggestions before doing that. Thanks in advance, These are the strings i tried. ig-platform-id: 01660000, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000000006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660001, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000001006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660002, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000002006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660003, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 2, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660004, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000004006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660008, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000008006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660009, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000009006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 0166000A, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d00690064000000080000000a006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 0166000B, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d00690064000000080000000b006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>

Hey guys, I have an alienware m14x r2 with an I7-3630qm and im having issues with getting more than two p-states (12 and 24). Which from my understanding is that my power management is not working properly, or at all. I have checked kextstat aswell as in system information under extensions and verified that Appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext is loaded as well as AppleLPC.kext, AppleSMC and AppleHPET.kext. I have the appleintelcpupowermanagementinfo.kext and it shows only two p-states are active. I have generated an DSDT following the guides, upon compiling it i had a few errors but i found a patch on here under the motherboard patch sections for my laptop. I used that to patch it and it took away the errors. I dont believe my dsdt is the issue, but i honestly dont know. I generated the ssdt using the SSDT-pr script and had it saved to the extra folder. I am using chameleon 2.2 and in that i have DropSSDT=Yes. I have tried a few different combos but it either results in 1 pstate (12) or 2 pstates (12 and 24). I have tried to disable turbo in bios which results in one pstate. I have tried Disabling speedstep in bios which results in 1 pstate. I have Tried Macbookpro10.1 smbios, macmini6.2. Which still only give me 2 pstates. I have attached my dsdt, ssdt and my Appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext which was patched using the patcher from insanelymac.com/downloads section made by iFire. help.zip
