De fato, sigo isso, acho bem mais prático mesmo pelo Chameleon Wizard. Antes eu achava que o SMBIOS não era grande coisa, mas atualmente se eu não uso o MacPro3,1, só tomo KP. Como meu proc é um i5-2500K, tentei iMac12,1, iMac12,2, mas no estado atual, é só KP. Antes de gerar uma SSDT e patchear o AICPUPM, podia basicamente escolher o que quisesse, então acabo concluindo que o SMBIOS tem influência direta no gerenciamento de energia. Só me falta descobrir os corretos. Teoricamente, o SMBIOS que devo usar para meu hardware é aquele cuja descrição se aproxime mais do meu equipamento? Pergunto porque já vi recomendações diferentes, como a que tem no multishit do tonycrap, sobre usar o MacPro3,1 como um "seguro".

Thanks for the script, Artur. At the end, the generated SSDT is quite similar to the multishit's suggested SSDTs. Also patched AICPUPM, but still not much luck getting sleep working as well as more than one or two states. In most of the tests, I only get 1.6 in HWMonitor, some combinations get me 3.3 also, but nothing in between. Oh well, anyway, thanks again. I guess this is the SSDT to keep, although I still have those "P-State stepper error"s. Oh yeah, btw, I also had the exact problems that 2 guys had along this thread: a KP mentioning AICPUPM and the ACPI plugin. I got them when trying to solve the stepper errors I have permanently. My only solution was to bring the SMBIOS to MacPro3,1. Of course, I didn't try all of the possibilities, but so far, this is the only one now which allows me to boot into the system (after patching AICPUPM, generating SSDT and some things more, probably). And I also am guessing that MacPro3,1 in some way messes the steps. What bothers me is that I see guys all the time using other SMBIOS. Oh well, time will tell.

Espero que ninguém se importe com a desenterrada do tópico e, menos ainda, os participantes do mesmo. É só pra registrar que eu também tinha problemas como o do amigo, até hábitos e uma máquina parecida. Acabei achando alguns registros de alguns poucos que fizeram funcionar no Lion e então resolvi reativar minha velha instalação de Snow Leopard, felizmente eu ainda não a tinha tocado (mas estava prestes a zerar o HD). No SL, não consegui fazer funcionar de modo algum. Não sei se esgotei todas as possibilidades, mas perdi um bom tempo com isso (além do que já havia perdido no ano passado). Só entrava display básico mesmo, o máximo era um 1440x1050 ou algo parecido. Mas com o Mountain Lion, o suporte melhorou. Ainda não ativa direto, mas editando duas kexts (AMDRadeonController e ATI6000Controller) ativa de primeira! Quase chorei ao ver o desktop subindo em resolução nativa, com os efeitos tradicionais do Mac e já entrando a tela com o nome do meu monitor pra configurar. Uhuuuuuuuuuuuuu! Finalmente vou poder usar a 6790 no Hackintosh e checar se tudo isso realmente valeu a pena.
