Hi everyone,
I’ve successfully installed macOS using OpenCore on my setup, but I’m facing significant performance issues. My system feels slow, especially during animations and general usage. I am only using the integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4600) and do not have a dedicated GPU.
System Details:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 @ 3.20GHz (Haswell, 4th Gen).
Integrated GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600.
Motherboard: ASUS H81M-K (H81 chipset).
OpenCore Version: 0.9.6.
macOS Version: Big Sur (11.1) or Ventura.
Current Situation:
I have added the following kexts to my EFI folder:
Lilu.kext
WhateverGreen.kext
AppleALC.kext (for audio).
RealtekRTL8111.kext (for Ethernet).
I’ve configured the ig-platform-id for HD Graphics 4600 as 0x0d220003 and injected device properties via config.plist.
I generated an SMBIOS for iMac15,1 using GenSMBIOS.
Problems I’m Facing:
Slow UI animations: Mission Control, Launchpad, and Dock animations are laggy.
Video playback issues: Playing videos in Safari or other apps feels choppy.
General sluggishness: Even lightweight tasks feel slower than expected.
What I Need Help With:
Did I configure the ig-platform-id correctly for my integrated graphics?
Are there specific DeviceProperties I should set for Intel HD Graphics 4600 to improve performance?
Do I need to adjust Kernel, ACPI, or other sections in my config.plist to optimize system performance?
Is there anything specific in the BIOS that I should enable or disable to enhance performance with integrated graphics?
Additional Information:
I can share my current EFI folder and config.plist if needed.
I’m looking for any advice or guidance to make the system faster and more responsive.
Thank you in advance for your help! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
