  1. Apologies for my delayed response; life's been a bit hectic lately. I totally understand your situation with the High Sierra to Mojave upgrade. I'm a fellow Hackintosh enthusiast, and I've had my fair share of adventures with OS updates too. When I upgraded to Mojave, I decided to fresh install on my SSD and manually transfer the data I needed from the cloned High Sierra drive. It took some time, but it allowed me to be more selective about what I wanted to keep. Also, I found some info about the CCC online test, which you might find helpful. I'm always on the lookout for handy tools that can make the process smoother. I wonder if you can find some info about it.
  2. It really depends on your needs and preferences. If you need portability, the laptop might be a better choice for you. The laptop's graphics card is more powerful than the desktop's, which would be beneficial for video editing. The desktop might be better if you want more power and RAM for more intensive tasks. The desktop's processor is faster than the laptop's, and its RAM is more powerful. Also, the motherboard chipset is more up-to-date. If you're just starting out with video editing, you may want to consider checking out movavi.com for the great video editing tools and user-friendly software. It's suitable for both laptop and Android devices and allows you to make amazing videos.
