Glad for You. Actually HDD is not recommended for APFS partitions, SSD is better. Must have been Wifi card problem. I did a litttle test on my machine. I put back the factory wifi card and could not boot up either. Without any card in slot , boot was alright. -

Really stange. I have same EFI, same laptop with i3 and it boots fine. I suggest resetting bios to optimized defaults then disabling secure boot again and make sure You are booting from the drive where is the EFI. -

Big Sur can be indeed hard to install and works unstable. But Catalina is quite usable and easy to install with Olarila OC EFI. -

If headphones jack does not work then try booting up with headphones connected to the jack. It helped me. -

Try first booting into catalina without windows drive connected. Maybe the culprit is windows bootloader that messes the things up. Yes I can mount and unmount now easily with OC configurator all my efis, even windows efi on NVMe drive. And I can boot from OC into Windows, no problems I am not sure what helped me to resolve the problem. I did many tricks. Maybe renaming SSD from two words name (macintosh hd) into a one word name. Or changng EFI folder. -

My S145 had a Realtek RTL8822CE wifi card. It never worked. USB WIFI dongle tp link wn725n v3 works fine with catalina. Not sure about the big sur. -

S145-IIL-i3 with Fenvi BCM94360NG M.2 Wifi BT card. The Big Sur. Bluetooth and wifi work fine. My primary headache is now the fact that I cannot mount any EFI partitions. Neither with OC configurator nor with Terminal. -

Yes, EFI from this group. Sound works fine. Trackpad buttons don't work properly. But I guess it can be fixed by deleting some kexts in S/L/E. Sorry, the EFI is too heavy, 18 Mb. This group allows only 2 MB upload. Try to update your AppleALC.kext to version 1.5.4. It is responsible for sound. -

Very good EFI. Elan trackpad buttons started to work correctly and machine wakes correctly, no more black screen after sleep.
