  1. Not sure what happened here but reinstall fixed it and never saw it again. Thanks artur for reply....
  2. Hello - I have gone away and been using 10.9 for a while now. Now 10.10 is here and I feel stupid and may be have forgotten the little I knew. Anyway installed using the Yosemite installer from 10.9 on to 10.10 separate SSD. My active HDD is disk1 with 10.9 and when I try to boot on to new 10.10 Yosemite I get: Memory allocation error! Add: 0x05d804a8, Size..... I have installed most recent Chameleon 2.3svn r2549 to both 10.9 and 10.10 partition. not much i can find on this error AMD R7 270 GPU not 270x I have edited Info.plist of 2 files already with required id.
  3. Just thought I'd make a note on how to extract the ACPI tables from Windows now that AIDA64 doesn't include the ACPI dump command anymore and the earlier versions of AIDA64 that do have the ACPI Dump command don't support Windows 8. I did the following: 1. Downloaded the tools from here: https://www.acpica.org/downloads/binary-tools 2. Ran dump command redirecting to a dat file: C:\Users\David>C:\Users\David\Downloads\iasl-win-20140214\acpidump.exe > C:\Users\David\acpi.dat 3. Extract the separate tables using the extract command: C:\Users\David>C:\Users\David\Downloads\iasl-win-20140214\acpixtract.exe -a acpi.dat Intel ACPI Component Architecture ACPI Binary Table Extraction Utility version 20140214-32 [Feb 14 2014] Copyright (c) 2000 - 2014 Intel Corporation Acpi table [DSDT] - 26189 bytes written to dsdt.dat Acpi table [XSDT] - 140 bytes written to xsdt.dat Acpi table [FACS] - 64 bytes written to facs.dat Acpi table [FACP] - 244 bytes written to facp.dat 4. Decompile the dat files to dsl files using the following such commands: This will leave you with a set of decompile ACPI tables with dsl extensions that can be opened, corrected and added to using DSDT Editor. ______________________ Now for some strange reason I STILL did not get an SSDT extracted. It seems my machine doesn't use one at all. Any suggestions on how to Turbo working appreciated.
  4. ok realised that this configuration is not enabling the 3 turbo states....hence the lower score.
  5. OK looks like no SSDT - clover seemed to have become unresponsive when trying to extract by pressing F4 and Window AIDA64 tool doesn't at least me appear to have the ACPI Dump command. I have set to P + C states = Yes and I do see a lower multiplier jn use most of the time getting higher when load is applied. I ran a Geekbench score and I have dropped 2000 points to 22000 with these options. Is this normal ? I read more about people seeing increases when speed stepping is enabled.
  6. Hello - yes this is what I tried. Extracting SSDT proved tricky. I tried it from linux and received incomplete garbage. ssdtPRgen.sh also doesn't work on Nahalem processors - hence my attempt at building one manually... any other ideas on how to extract one ? Or any thoughts on previous post of mine ?
  7. Thanks for the reply seems like I don't know if I am coming or going... I think I may have been staring the answer in the face for probably a few weeks at least. In fact since I made a successful DSDT edit to get AppleLPC loaded. I have reverted back to an older DSDT version - I observe the following: and the following when running Geekbench2 Is this enough to confirm that native power management is setup and working ? I feel a bit dumb...
  8. Looking at trying to get speed stepper fixed. Done what I think is right and created a custom SSDT manually since the ssdtPRgen.sh doesn't support Nehalem. I am running 2x Xeon x5660. With SSDT.aml in /Extra I see: HWMonitor shows: P & C States in SMC Monitor show I don't believe MSRDumper works on 1st ge. Nehalem since nothing is returned…. Question is when the machine is idling how do I make it go in to its lowest p-state ? Currently it sits at above 2000 MHz with no real power management. smbios.plist: I think I am close here but something is not right yet.... Any help really appreciated Archive.zip
  9. Fixed issue with attached DSDT - this took into account using the SBUS fix as well. DSDTv1.01a.aml.zip
  10. Thanks but it didn't work: sh-3.2# kextstat | grep LPC 41 0 0xffffff7f81769000 0x15000 0x15000 org.hwsensors.driver.LPCSensors (820) <19 11 7 5 4 3> sh-3.2# Just to confirm - I placed this in Extra and point org.chameleon.boot.plist to it. - Rebooted - Didn't clear kernel cache Also speed step is not yet working but i think this is independent matter from AppleLPC... EDIT : The following kernel messages can be seen: Apple16X50ACPI1: Identified Serial Port on ACPI Device=UAR1 Previous Shutdown Cause: 5 SMC::smcInitHelper ERROR: MMIO regMap == NULL - fall back to old SMC mode Apple16X50UARTSync2: Detected 16550AF/C/CF FIFO=16 MaxBaud=115200 Apple16X50UARTSync1: Detected 16550AF/C/CF FIFO=16 MaxBaud=115200 ** AppleSMBusPCI::start failed to get acpi path for provider init probe start [iOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed DSMOS has arrived
  11. artur-pt thanks for the reply and all the useful works you have done !!!!!! I tried a few of these patches already: post #2 from http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3834: into method label _DSM parent_adr 0x001F0000 remove_entry; into device name_adr 0x001F0000 insert begin Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)\n {\n Store (Package (0x02)\n {\n "compatible", \n Buffer (0x0D)\n {\n "pci8086,27b9"\n }\n }, Local0)\n DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))\n Return (Local0)\n } end Also from the linked to the insanelymac post, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/289791-fixed-by-dsdt-edit-10c-temps-500rpm-fans/#entry1924424 : Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized) { Store (Package (0x08) { "device-id", Buffer (0x04) { 0x18, 0x3A, 0x00, 0x00 }, "compatible", Buffer (0x0D) { "pci8086,3a18" }, "IOName", Buffer (0x0D) { "pci8086,3a18" }, "name", Buffer (0x0D) { "pci8086,3a18" } }, Local0) DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0)) Return (Local0) } Is the method inserted in the right place ?
  12. Hello - I have been trying for a long time to get AppleLPC (on 10.9.1) to load by patching my DSDT..... but it still fails (checked with kextstat). I come here for help.... please Followed this post http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3834 and added the patch also added the DTGP method to the top of DSDT. The real device id is 00:1f.0 ISA bridge [0601]: Intel Corporation 82801JIR (ICH10R) LPC Interface Controller [8086:3a16] Subsystem: Super Micro Computer Inc Device [15d9:040a] but I'm not sure if this is needed when patching the DSDT. Thanks for any help !! Archive.zip
  13. Hello - I have updated my device id's on the ethernet ports using ethtool and the 2 NIC's are now present. I have a problem where neither of them are able to be en0 - and are en2 and en3. How can one of them be forced to en0 - I guess the wireless card would need to become en4. EDIT: Fixed - created ARTP Device for wireless and then deleted preferences.plist and Networkconf.plist and restarted. BSD Names are now ok and connection works - not 100% sure on how it all works but looking better DSDT.aml.zip takeawaydave_2x5660_5,1_noDisceteGPU_2x82574L.zip
  14. hello - could you please help me adding built in ethernet to ethernet on POP8 interface. i extracted DSDT using DSDT Editor and clicked compile and then fixed errors. I still have a ton of warnings. Thanks ! EDIT: I made an edit and I have attached. Could this correctness be verified ? ONly change 1 NIC not both yet. 15. bump - any one any comments ? please...
  16. hi ho - running 10.8.2 and getting weird behaviour with USB port (2 x USB2.0 + 2 x USB3.0). It seems that devices are connecting to the wrong bus despite of the port they are being used. I ran a quick test but not sure on how or what to look at move forward. THis is the test I ran: Here the situation with nothing plugged in: Now if I plugin dongle (shown as USB Receiver) in to USB2.0*RB (Right Back) : Now if I plugin dongle in to USB2.0*RF (Right Front) I see: Now if I plug in dongle to USB3.0*LB (Left Back) I see: Finally if I plug in dongle to USB3.0*LF (Left Front) I see: As can be seen for 3/4 ports regardless of which port I plug the dongle in to it will show up on the USB 3.0 High-Speed Bus even if I plugin it in to a USB2.0 port. Where do I start getting this unravelled and fixed ? Thanks !
  17. I can sleep my Samsung NP550 but it wakes not feeling too great with loss of keyboard and trackpad. Googling tells me bits and pieces and but not a full story of what needs doing...patching AppleRTC.kext ... patching DSDT .... Can I get more details if some one knows ?? Thanks !! EDIT: KB wakes now following this patch: sudo perl -pi -e 's|\x75\x30\x89\xd8|\xeb\x30\x89\xd8|' /S/L/E/Extensions/AppleRTC.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleRTC Now the trackpad... EDIT2: If I unload and then unload the right kext then I can use the Trackpad again. Kinabalu:~ David$ sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePS2Trackpad.kext Password: Kinabalu:~ David$ sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ApplePS2Trackpad.kext
