  1. From what I have read, the P8 (generic) bios 3xxx should be the basic edit. Is the additional audio codec required after this ? (For this board it is the ALC892). I cant try it at the moment as the machine is not assembled yet.
  2. Thanks artur-pt. I have the audio running now without using additional patches, by changing the id to 892. Im also running Snow leopard here, not Lion. Im going to rebuild the DSDT a couple of times using different options. I know i was close to it before but like a nugget, I didnt write down the exact steps I took.
  3. Well I changed the generic ID to 892, but that seems to lose the bluetooth. Applying the full 892 patch seems to keep it. I'll do some more checks and post back.
  4. The existing ones didnt work correctly because the audio wasnt patched properly. It created a lot of errors in the system logs and there was no sound at all. I actually managed to find out what was wrong in the end. By looking through the patch file and the individual patches and removing them bit by bit, it appears the audio was incorrect. Now if I use the original patch file for this motherboard, patch the original unmodified .dsl file, and then apply the ALC892 patch on top of that and then compile it, it compiles cleanly and works perfectly including proper audio. So it seems the original patch that is available here works for everything except the audio. Just add the ALC892 patch on top and all is good. It was frustrating for me because in-built audio is really important. Having had a couple of bios updates since the version I was working on to begin with, I can confirm that the method above works for newer versions too. So all is well in the end, and peace is once again restored to my Hackintosh universe
  5. Hi all, Im working on a new updated DSDT for my motherboard (Asus P8H67-I Deluxe), since all of the existing ones I have found do not work 100% as expected. Now following on from several posts here, I have come up with the following list of individual edits to be applied to the original untouched DSDT file. These are based on recommendations I have read both here and at the tonycrapx86 site, rather than having the full level of technical knowledge. They are (In no particular order): LPC EHCI EHCI Sleep/Ownership RTC HDEF ALC892 DTGP IRQs SBUS/SMBUS HPET Shutdown For Asus Boards WAK They will be based on the latest bios version which is 0606. If anyone can see any obvious errors or has any suggestions/comments, I would appreciate them. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the link, youre a star!
  7. Yep, Ive been looking at that post you refer to with some interest. Any idea about a patch for the 892 audio ? There are a few audio patches for download on here but nothing I can see for the 892...
  8. That is the one I am running. What I need to do is get a recommended list of the edits if possible. That way I wont have to rely on other people to do it in future and be able to compile a fresh DSDT whenever a new bios is released for example.
  9. It starts with 31 errors initially, but after selecting the Fix Errors option it comes down to 2 which are both : Min/Max/Length/Gran are all zero, but no resource tag Thats using the patch posted here in the patch directory, but im not actually sure it is correct anyway, hence wanting to produce my own. I did find a precompiled version of it here in the forums too but the sound is missing (ALC892). Plus i cant see any patches for the 892 codec either.
  10. Hi all, I'm going to attempt to create a DSDT for my Asus board (P8H67-I Deluxe Rev3). I have the necessary tools and there is a patch for this board in the patch directory but it doesn't compile cleanly, possibly due to a different bios version but I'm not 100% sure of that. So my question is this : is there a recommended list of the individual parts that need to be modified ? What Im talking about here is the likes of DTGP Method, HDEF etc etc. I have a list for Gigabyte boards, but not sure about Asus. I'd really like to get a list of the minimal edits required to successfully create a working DSDT. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
