  1. Hi there. The E470 folder is the closest I can get to booting Catalina. I have tried all of your EFI files, dmgs, OC and Clover for Kaby Lake and Coffee Lake. I keep ending at the same spot...even without changing your premade folders...other than adding -igfxvesa. I have a Lenovo T580 i7 8550u with Samsung 870 evo and 3440 screen. It's a Kaby Lake-r and I can get graphics to load during verbose, so I'm good. The problem is that the DMG installs, then reboots to macOS installer, gets through all the verbose, but then once the Apple logo appears, it stalls at about 30% of the way. It's been the same with about 100 different attempts of all sorts, including all from scratch following Dortania. Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey. Is the issue with the Hard Drive or CFG lock within bios? I tried to bios edit the appropriate field but it's unable to write to the bios being Lenovo I guess. What would stop it all at about 30% (Clover) or usually saying 29 minutes to go. (OpenCore) I always start with your plain EFI before making changes. Literally 100 configs and USBs created. Thanks.
  2. Thank you for the response. I have read your threads and many other threads, as well as attempted countless configurations based on the threads. No matter what I try, I can't get graphics to be more than the 7mb, as well as backlight, sleep functions won't work. It seems as though there is a chance when using device-id 12040000 that it is trying to initiate during boot, but then flashes black after about 60% loading of apple logo. When I leave everything like I have it in the attached OC folder and config.plist (remove device-id) it at least boots and is pretty functional, other than what I noted above. Sound and internet connectivity were successful with what's in the kexts folder. Sony Vaio Tap 21 i5-4200u w/intel 4400 graphics. Are you able to take a look into my folder and config and see where I might be going wrong. I really do appreciate your help and all the time you spend based on the countless threads and info you provide. I couldn't attach full OC zip due to size limitation, but the config has what's in kext folder and activated. The ACPI and patches haven't been touched from your premade EFI folder for Haswell. Any input would be great. Thank you. Screen Shot 2021-01-04 at 10.35.19 AM.zip Screen Shot 2021-01-04 at 10.58.18 AM.zip config.plist.zip
  3. Hi there, thank you for your premade efi usb installer for Haswell. Vaio Tap 21: i5-4200u HD4400 graphics That finally worked and let me install Catalina on my system. I have a few quick questions before I start messing around. 1) Your SSDT-OLA is the only thing in ACPI, so is that compiled with the other SSDT's that are shown in Open Core instructions already, or I am supposed to go in and change those now? 2) The platform info, etc...show MacPro1,1 and it works, so I didn't want to change that, but my system I believe should be set to MacBookPro11,1 or 2, or MacBookAir6,2 from what I gather. What change will this have on stuff that isn't working? 3) I was able to get wifi working with itlwm and heliport by manually entering info.plist. 4) Below are the issues and I wanted to know if the compiled system you have made was to just get the install to happen, then I am to change a lot of the items within the config.plist. I didn't want to get ahead of myself and wreck things that are working. - sleep (won't sleep, but seems to try, as it freezes after a while of no use and I just tap the power button and everything starts working again.) - display shows 7mb ram. (I followed your post about intel and the 4400 patch, so this may still work. Haven't tried yet. - USB hubs work, but barely. Wireless mouse and keyboard have to be about 6 inches away to work. The 2 normal USB ports work fine, so I am not using a hub right now. - audio, brightness control, etc... Sorry about the post and I appreciate your time. ***I do have the kexts and I can follow those instructions, I just wanted confirmation that the premade Haswell USB installer needed many changes still, and it was just supposed to get an initial install completed. Thank you
