Hello, I am new to hackintosh. I have an acer predator laptop with core i5 8300 H, 16GB RAM, XPG Gammix NVME SSD I was able to install Big Sur but I feel that the performance is very laggy. Opening apps is quite slow and in general the performance is very poor, I ran black magic Hard Disk speed test and I get 2400 MB/s Write and 2700 MB/s read speeds so the SSD does not seem to be an issue. The battery backup is very poor as well. Installed Big Sur 11.0.1. hello, please let me know if there is any way to reset the password in this case? is there any way for the recovery to discover the installation disk partitions? thanks,

thanks MaLd0n I have tried to boot into recovery in the clover boot menu where it shows the boot options. However after booting into recovery, it is not able to detect the main Mac partition MACPART and hence it is not able to show the user account which needs a password reset.

hackintosh - catalina

thanks, pressing Windows+R or Alt+R does not get me into recovery. I am not able to reset the password using apple ID as well. it does not ask for apple ID. Is there any other option? thankls

I have installed catalina on my laptop and I have forgotten my password. When I boot into recovery and try to use resetpassword via terminal it says it cant find any volumes. Can you please let me know any workarounds? thanks

Thanks MaLD0n, Yes I have SSDTs in folder. What I have just done is to press F4 and then use the DSDT.aml which was generated. With this I am able to boot but faced a panic with the following trace after some time. My question is 1. Can I use the generated DSDT.aml which was generated using CLOVER? What is the right way to use DSDT and SSDT? 2. There are a number of SSDT's generated, how can I use those SSDT? 3. What is the right way to get the intel CPU power management to get to work as I am getting very poor battery life. Hello Mald0n, This is my config Acer predator Ph315-51 laptop, core i5 8300H, installed Catalina but there are no DSDT settings shown in clover Issues 1. No wifi, lwtim.kext does not work as expected and never connects using heliport 2. It seems that intel accelerated graphics is not on and hence the laptop does not go to sleep 3. It seems that all the settings are wrong, no audio, no power management and no proper graphics. When tried to install Big Sur using latest Olarila image, it hangs. Hello, Thanks for your message. I replaced the files posted earlier but was not able to boot from HDD. I also updated clover to 5126 but it was still not booting from HDD. So I finally copied the EFI folder from the PEN drive to the HDD EFI and now it is able to boot from HDD. However it shows clover 5122. I also followed the guide at https://www.olarila.com/topic/5794-hackintosh-guide-install-macos-with-vanilla-olarila-image-step-by-step-install-and-post-install-windows-linux-or-mac/ but was not able to boot from HDD. Kindly let me know how to fix this. It seems that intel gfx intel 630 being used is not accelerated.
