Laptop brightness is very dimmed at startup
Stefan C. replied to Stefan C.'s topic in Big Sur (10.16)
It works! Thank you man! -
After upgrading from OC 0.6.5 to 0.6.7 (now 0.6.8) my laptop starts up with very dimmed brightness, can’t see anything on my screen. I’m running Big Sur 11.2.3. If i downgrade to 0.6.5, all is fine. Does anybody now a workaround for this issue? Thanks a lot! Specs: Model: Dell Vostro 3490 CPU: Intel i5 10210u GPU: Intel UHD Graphics RAM: 16 GB Storage: 2 SSDs ( 1 x Samsung NVMe + 1 x Kingston SATA 3 - here I have the macOS install).

Apparently changing the SMBIOS to MBP15,4 fixed the problem in Catalina. Now it runs really smooth.

Ok, thanks!

In mobiles? What do you mean? Is graphics (UHD 630 mobile) the cause?

Ok. The problem is that this is also happening on macOS Catalina. Can you please take a look on my EFI?

Hello, i'm running macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 on my Dell Vostro 3490 with latest opencore (also latest kexts) and i have really slow boot times (we are talking about 2-4 minutes for a boot). Also, after the boot, the OS feels sluggish (the apps are not launching fast even if i'm running from an SSD). Here are my specs: Model: Dell Vostro 3490 CPU: Intel i5 10210u GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630 mobile RAM: 16 GB Storage: 2 SSDs ( 1 x Samsung NVMe + 1 x Kingston SATA 3) - i'm running macOS on the SATA drive. Network: Realtek Ethernet card + Intel AC-1385 wifi card. I'll be really thankful if someone can help me. Here is my EFI: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oDSZEhBlwUeu1r8XNAErTyX3IPkNc4NL/view?usp=sharing Thank you!

Hello @MaLd0n, i'll post here because i don't want to make a useless new topic. Just discovered that my HDMI is not working. When i plug in the cable, my laptop display goes dark (and stays like that, nothing happens) and i got no signal. Can you please help me? Thanks! Here is the runME output: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14_m1zh4MCsuOwE94wJPPzKDjH7xGqzeK/view?usp=sharing

@MaLd0n, just did what you said above and I still got no sound. Here is the output runMe.app: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OY5UbhAhQXGb8bVhkdH-ZZtWi56u8lVJ/view?usp=sharing It's so frustrating. Edit: i forgot to change the dev id. I put the one from above and it works flawlessly. Thank you man so much!

@MaLd0n, did the same to mine. Tried with the dev id from your photo and with mine and I got nothing.
