Still no hope...

GAAAAA This error is annoying me so much. To get so far only to have an error come up mid-way through installation is really annoying Can anyone else help me, I've tried everything and this forum has been the most helpful so far

Tried with another USB drive. Don't have another HD to try it on I tried with other bootloaders too, but they don't recognise the USB. Why's that? Also could I be getting this error message because of my specs?

Tried it with another image, still getting the error, got half way through the installation and then get error "The Installer could not copy the necessary support files, Click Restart to restart the computer"

How would I do that? Could it also be because my graphics card is an ATI? Because I noticed on the 'Chipsets' section of the Customise part there is a box to tick next to AppleATIATA ?

I did what you told me to do (take off printer drivers, language support etc) but it still gives me an error on installation about half way through install

Oh ok thanks, I'll give that a go Just to clarify, if I install Mac OSX to another dedicated Hard Drive, would my existing Windows 7 system still work? Would I need to change settings in bios for the existing hard drive? (I don't want to lose anything, as it's my main PC at home). I would want to be able to Dual Boot

It didn't get to 100% progress. How do I find the option to deselect drivers etc?

Ok i've gotten it to recognise the Hard Drive. Still using ModCD at this point. It gets to the installation part, and after a few minutes it says Installation failed. Why is that?

Woah, i've found it! Fantastic! You're awesome! So I assume I just carry on installing it then? I wish to be able to dual boot with my current Windows 7 system too, do I need to do anything differently?

I can't get hold of Disk Utility though as I can't get hold of a Mac. Is there no way of doing this on a Windows Machine?

Oh right. Not working for me then. I used Empireefi, and it wouldn't recognise the USB. iBoot would freeze on the apple logo and not go any further. The only one that seemed to work was ModCD, because it went to the installation page, but when it got to the page asking which drive to install Mac on, it wouldn't recognise my IDE hard drive that I have inserted into the system, and that's where I want to install OSX on

There's a part on the tutorial which says Abra o Utilitário de Disco, selecione a partição do drive USB e clique em Apagar. Selecione o formato Mac OS Expandido (Reg. Cronológico) e clique no botão Apagar... But how do I open disk utility in the first place? I am on a windows machine, so how do I do this?

I don't get it. I've only got a Windows machine and have used transmac to make a USB for the .dmg file. But the next part says to open disk utility? How do I do that on a windows machine?

Do i still follow this guide if I wish to install this onto another drive, and still keep my windows 7 installation intact? I wish to be able to dual boot.

How would I go about doing that? And at what stage of the process would I connect the USB for OSX to install?

Hi I'm a newbie to all of this, my friend linked me to this forum and so far it's been helping me out a lot (i've been lurking ) The problem I'm having though is that can a .dmg file be split? I haven't *bought* a retail copy of snow leopard yet as it will take days to deliver, and I wanted to get this done now, also I wasn't sure if it would work at all. So I downloaded a .dmg image of snow 10.6 ( I will buy a retail copy once i'm confident hackintosh works on my machine, I'm just experimenting) but the file is 7.6gb! I don't have a dual layer burner, so I was wondering if the .dmg can be split onto 2 blank DVD's, and will it install as normal?
