Are we sure that she is using Proxmox as I thought most type 1 hypervisors needed to be connected over the network and didn't even have a UI on the machine that they were running on? I have tried running macos on a few qemu/kvm vm's with varying degrees of failure, I couldn't get any of them to run with the same resolution or speed as a conventional hackintosh.

Just had a thought, I copied the bootcamp app to the desktop where it can be modified. I will post the result, although I am still curious to know if the system files can be modified.

This is not specifically related to a hackintosh but hopefully you may be able to help me. I have (as well as a hackintosh) an old 2008 imac which has Catalina on it thanks to DosDudes patcher. I want to use bootcamp to install windows but I am prevented by the system being unable to find the optical drive. This is a known issue which can be overcome by modifying the bootcamp info.plist file, simply removing the "pre" from the usb boot line. I have disabled SIP and run cmd sudo mount -uw / and set permissions to read/write. Unfortunately I still get the error message "can't modify or delete sytem file because they are used by macOS" Any ideas please?

Thank you, I have tried this but nothing appears in my origin folder, I have used the original usb that the system was loaded with as or should I try doing the f4 press when loading from the macos? it will not boot with the HIS Gpu but I could change to the old one to read the origin folder? Edit would it be easier to change the Gpu for a make that is know to work?

I have been using the build that you supplied an EFI folder for so successfully that I have built another. This time I have used an H310 Mb and the same i7 CPU but not the RX 5700 XT Gpu. If I use a cheap and cheerful 5450 Gpu it works fine so I bought an RX 580 after reading that these were OK. Unfortunately it reboots with panic half way through booting. I have no idea why?

Thank you so much, it works. I wish that I had asked for help a long time ago instead of struggling. I have no idea what this boot arg does but I will try to find out. Thanks again, John.

Thank you for the EFI unfortunately when it boots I see the verbose screen but then lose the video, it may well continue to boot but I cannot see it. I am using HDMI lead plugged in to GPU (RX5700 XT) I have tried with internal graphics enabled and disabled both give the same result. If I plug the monitor into the internal graphics the verbose screen crashes shortly after boot.

Please would you look at my send me file, I have made a small donation. The main issue is sometimes not booting, I get this error message: error allocating 0x1196b pages 0x0000000006ef00 alloc type 2 couldn't allocate runtime area boot failed will sleep for 10 secs before exiting If I boot from recovery to utilities then choose start up disc and reboot it works I could not get tiny upload to work so I have used this link: https://gofile.io/?c=pSqjcd

This is my first attempt at building a hackintosh, it is only with help from reading the forum and downloading an EFI folder that I have got this far. My system seems to work but immediately restarts on shutdown. I have run the "run me" program and uploaded the result. It may be of little use as my EFI folder is still on a USB at present.
