Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the help. But I'm afraid it's the same thing. I really don't understand it. I don't seem to find anyone else with the same problem. I've tried different bios settings, different bios versions, very plain EFI, very elaborate ones. Basically, the way I see it the internal graphics turn off when it would normally start the catalina installer, I have the impression the mac installation app is actually happening, it's just not outputting anything to the screen. I'd be happy to pay you to help me out.

Hi there, I have the same hardware, just using a i7 9700K and different ram and I'm using your EFI to install Catalina on this build but I keep getting a black screen after I start the installation from the clover bootloader. When I say black screen I actually mean that my screen just doesn't get a signal anymore and turns off. I don't even reach the Catalina install screen (where I can pick disk utility etc). I'm connected straight to the iGPU since I'm trying to run an AMD RX 5700 XT (hence trying to install catalina) I've added the pikera bootarg in whatevergreen, since I heard this might help things but to no avail. Actually it sounds like my display is just not picking up the signal even thought when I touch my keyboard I can hear the fans kicking off and the computer "waking up" it seems like it's a display driver issue Any help would be greatly appreciated
