  1. Thanks Mald0n for your help, with your help and the support of oldnapalm, we did it ! Thank you !
  2. I will try. Basically the question is if it will work with the other card, if I put his numbers, even w/o the m/b one (I think I have to disable it first from BIOS, right?). Because of the fact I don't use AppleHDA, do you think I need the patched DSDT, or I'll get sound with VoodooHDA w/o DSDT (I don't know what exactly did change in it ...)
  3. New day - new hope ! I worked as you told me to do yesterday, and ..... You are the best ! I got the kext from your link to be quite sure I do not mess anything and changed OPCIPrimaryMatch and values. for me it is : IOPCIPrimaryMatch 0x3a3e8086 And worked !!!! So now, in Output Tab I have : Line-out (Green rear) -- that one I use for sound output, and Digital-out (Black HDMI) -- never used, not sure if it works ... The front Headphones output functions too. Now, do you think that my X-Fi Titanium Family Soundblaster card will do it ? And is it possible to have two cards in VoodooHDA ? Two strings into the same IOPCIPrimaryMatch, or another Key ? Or not possible at all. In any way, now I'm happy Thank you very much !
  4. Exactly, as I did test it already lst week, now I see two lines in Output Tab - one with lineOut (three times) + Headphones, and one with SPDIF Out. But no sound I could try a newer Voodoo ... VoodooHDA.kext_v272_Snow - is that one you're using ??
  5. Yeah, that's probably the reason I see two lines with 'digital out'in System Preferences/Sound/output Tab. Let me get out AppleHDA and reboot first
  6. Should I use it (Voodoo) with or without AppleHDA ??
  7. I'm looking on my working (with sound!) SL10.6.7 version, witch was updated from 10.6.0 to 10.6.2. 10.6.5, 10.6.6 to 10.6.7, and in /S/L/E I don't have neither AppleHDA, nor LegacyHDA (matter of fact - I had AppleHDA that I deleted last week to test witch kext is responsible for the sound). Nothing special in /E/E. The only 'sound' kexts is VoodooHDA.kext in S/L/E (attached here for your info). So my question is - why couldn't I use it, and if I have to do any changes in it (if possible) - do you have any idea what to do ? Appreciated ! P.S. as soon as I did load Voodo.kext, sound icon is available, but I don't have sound ... VoodooHDA.kext.zip
  8. My Acer Aspire Am7720 Realtek ALC888/1200 is on ICH10, maybe some difference could make a glitch, if Aspire 5920 is different ? I'm looking right now here : http://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=212 I'm probably dumb, but not too much I guess , I cannot get some maybe things - Mald0n says "Copy the keys CommonPeripheralDSP and PathMaps from LegacyHDA to AppleHDA.kext" ....but witch one is the LegacyHDA ? It could be something I should already know, but I don't Pls ...
  9. I found somewhere next : have to edit AppleHDA binary and replace 8508EC10 by 8808EC10 (to cover ALC888 instead 885) ... do you think it works, and in what module in AppleHDA to find the string ?
  10. OK, installed AppleHDA in /S/L/S and DSDT in /E and rebooted - NO SOUND, the icon is grey ...
  11. OOps, sorry, I opened DSDT, it's mine ... I couldn't find the patch, but anyway, I will put it in /E right now and ... cross fingers Thanks ! BTW I don't know why, this (and only this kext) appears on the desktop as RED colored. Last week, I've been trying such a kext and OS panicked a couple of times, so I had to delete it ... So to install it in /E or /S/L/E ?
  12. OK, but just to confirm : this DSDT doesn't come from my computer/hardware, shouldn't I better use my own DSDT patched with the necessary info ???
  13. attached to previous posting ?
  14. Hi, I've been out for a while and didn't have the opportunity to try anything, but before doing whatsoever, I would like to be quite sure what I do You are talking about "files", but the only one I've got from you is "AppleHDA.kext-10.6.8-ALC888-Acer_Aspire_5920", right? So this is one AppleHDA kext that I shoud install in /L/S/E, I believe. Then you said I have to patch DSDT (probably that one I got from MaLd0n based on my hardware information??) Is there anything else ? Thank you very much, indeed !
  15. Hi, this is the info from Everest : High Definition Audio Codec Name Realtek ALC888/1200 Codec ID 10EC0888h / 10250198h Codec Revision 00100101h Codec Type Audio Supported Sound Formats 44 kHz, 48 kHz, 96 kHz, 192 kHz, 16-bit, 20-bit, 24-bit This is the PCI sound card, that (for now) is not used under OSX (not supported, as per my knowledge...) PCI-E 1.0 x1 port #1 In Use @ x1 (Creative SB X-Fi Audio Controller) So my primary m/b sound being Realtek ALC888/1200, what kext should I look for - one of them ? And, please, tell me what files to get/find, I'm a little bit mixed when talking for Legacy, or so ... Thanks
  16. Oldnapalm, thank you very much to get involved into the thread! Really. Basicaly, i got the formulae of "DSDT + LEGACY + APPLEHDA = SOUND" in the previous answer. A reason to delete already my Voodoo.kext, as I mentionned in my post, pls look on it. The question I had, and have, why to deleto these more kexts, they aren't in connection with the sound context/problem I have (at least that's I think) and asked the question. I've put back the original AppleHDA (maybe I have to put another "fixed" one?) + other files ? Let me know! Thanks people! P.S. I have feeling I have to use ACL888 files, My Win7 uses Realtek drivers based on this card ....
  17. witch ones to remove ?? is this really in connection with the sound card ??
  18. Cannot understand you, por favor, put a couple of words more, so a newbie can understand. Thanks P.S. I erased Voodoo from the system, repaired caches and extensions.mkext -- the Voodoo switch in Other is there !! How does it appears and can I get it out of there ?
  19. Another hint : I did instll back the original 10.7 AppleHDA.kext (BTW I did first with my old 10.6.7 AppleHDA.kext - same result). In the System Preference Other - I have VoodooHDA switch. When clicking on it I get next error message : Error Can't map Memory Clickin on OK - it gets appear once more, second click on OK and I have VoodooHDA pane with ERROR note velow it's name If I click somewhere on the pannel : Error Can't connect to StructMethod to send commands If I click on Sound treatment panel - it quits w/ error
  20. There you go with Kextstat results. Please elaborate on above - DSDT + LEGACY + APPLEHDA = SOUND Thanks a lot !! BTW, try Kext Wizard App - very good! You can install kexts, repair caches, see what kext is loaded, load them, check dependencies. Let me know what do you think about it. Kexstat_results.zip
  21. Thank you for your response. Right now, I don't have any AppleHDA in /S/L/E ( I deleted it), il my SL it works only with the Voodoo file. So now Should I put back, and if yes - what version for Apple HDA and what is the Legacy ? About kextstat - should I run it with any option, or w/o option? Thanks!
  22. I've put dsdt.aml into the /Extra folder and rebooted -- no change, no sound. Could you elaborate more on what did you put/change in this dsdt, please ? Thanks
  23. There you go. Thanks send_me.zip
  24. Yes, I did, but then either I cannt see anything on my System audio preference tab, either it is disabled ... And this kext works already with the same hardware in SL ! So, maybe there is something small to adjust ... And something more -- all these Voodoo versions ale SL oriented, the higher one being 10.6. Is there already a 10.7 version ? I don't think ... Thanks !
