How to make USB 3.1 work in Catalina

I just installed Catalina successfully on a Gigabyte Z170 MTB. Everything works as a charm. The only thing I have no idea how to enable is the USB 3.1 functionality. System Report shows only USB 3.0 BUS and 2.0 Hub, no mention about 3.1. Honestly even in High Sierra it was not working. Any ideas?
