No Screen after installing RX 580 8GB Armor card
terraform replied to terraform's topic in Big Sur (10.16)
The problem is I can't see any screen... No Bios no Boot loader... that is part of my confusion on how to problem solve... -
Hey, So I needed to swap out my Radeon VII for a RX 580. I now only have the RX 580 and am located in a part of the world where computer parts are hard to get (locally or shipped). I had hoped that I would be able to swap out the two cards without issue but after install and powering on I have never been able to get any signal from the RX 580 using any of the ports. I also tried to boot using a windows startup disk and the onboard graphics but still no signal. I have checked the cables and the monitors and that isn't the issue... Any suggestions on how to problem solve what is going on? I would have assumed maybe the card is dead but if that is the case then why no signal from the onboard gpu, and I am assuming it has nothing to do with the OpenCore as again I have detached the HD that OC is on and only have the Windows 10 drive plugged in. System Specs: i9900k 8 core CPU / z390 Gigabyte Designare / 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM / RX 580 Sapphire Amor 8GB / EVO 860 1TB - Start up Drive OS / etc: OpenCore BigSur (can't remember the exactly which version)

Thanks as always I will give this a try tomorrow and report back! Much appreciated!

I am having odd USB mapping issues and yes I have watched both your explainer videos on USB port mapping but something different is happening I think. i9-9900k / 390z Designare / 64GB DDR4 / Radeon VII OpenCore // OS 11.2 I could not get several ports to show up in Hackintool. So I used IOReg and STILL the Thunderbolt type C ports would not activate (on restart or hot swap). On top of that my USB 3.1 ports are all grouped on the same identifier. As you can see ALL of the USB 3.1 gen 1 are reporting as SS07 My type A USB 3.2 gen 2 come up separate BUT I can't get the same disks to mount using a C type cable in the thunderbolt ports. The Interior Motherboard Header is powering my Fenvi-919 card and is HS11 (that is operating but I wanted to make sure we don't remove it as I need that power) Here is a pic of what is going on and I have also attached a Send Me file which I just ran. Any help wold be greatly appreciated! thank you! Send me sConveys-Mac-Pro-2.zip

z390 Designare issues after a month of inactivity.
terraform replied to terraform's topic in DSDT Patch Requests
UPDATE - So the issues I experienced under Catalina (Clover) are now happening with Big Sur (OC)-- slow boot, slow window, BG loading, typing slow, and spontaneous shut downs. I have Removed RAM sticks and moved them to different slots, I have reset the BIOS to Dortina's Chipset recomendations, and still the issues persist. On one shutdown I got a "Boot falure detected" from BIOS on reboot attempt. HARDWARE or BIOS or BOTH? - So I am worried that it may be a hardware issue (which would be a problem for me as I am not located in an area where there are many options for specific parts) I have done another SEND ME and am also attaching the BIOS screens just to see if something maybe sticks out to you. I know you can't solve hardware issues ( ) however if you have any suggestions or guesses as to what may be going onI would be very grateful. Send me sconveys-pro.zip BIOS screens.zip ADDITIONAL QUESTION - IF it were the RAM that is causing this issue (I do see the vram debugging light sometimes throughout this process) I am wondering if it is a power issue... In Big Sur under "about this Mac" when I look at memory it has my RAM showing up at 2400MHz (but my RAM is 3600MHz Kingston Predator Hyperx) AND says there is an issue what should my BIOS ram settings be I have had X.M.P on Profile one (and not touched any of the RAM power adjustments) (image of Big Sur RAM "issue" -

Thanks! Any specific BIOS setting I need to be aware of? Also will I need to do USB mapping with this like I did with Clover? -

OK so I have Big Sur installed... I had a hard time getting it to take and I still can't tell if my previous issue is Hardware or software but Install and sleep and boot are all working and the SEND ME file is attached here Thanks! Send me sconveys-pro.zip -

OK I am going to start and attempt the OC install using your OC-Vinilla App and your instructions on YT and the site here. ONE QUESTION -- should I update my MOBO BIOS to F9j (it is currently f8), also if I follow the app and guide I am assuming I will still need some custom DSDT patching? So... assuming I can get the OS up and running, should I send you a new SEND ME file for tweaks? THANKS! -

OK so Big Sur is stable enough with my hardware to go for it? If so I will but if Catalina will be more stable I don't mind. -

Ha! If we must :-) I will need a few days to do some research and purchase a new SSD..... What Installer do you think is best for this sytem? thx! -
After a month in storage my i9900k / Designere is booting oddly (& slowly) and everything is opening slow and behaving poorly. See video here: Description of issue: Apple screen loads slowly, before OS login screen the apple and progress bar flash on the screen in the lower left corner (opposed to the center) then Catalina desktop image doesn’t load (black bg only) and the menu top bar SLOOOWLY loads and it can take 30-40 seconds until desktop image loads and icons appear on screen. After that the entire system is slow, opening apps. Running apps, typing is laggy…. This behavior is erratic in that sometimes on restart it will load and seemingly work fine. ** SENDME file attached ** SPECS: i9900k 8 core CPU, z390 Gigabyte Designare, 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM, Sapphire VII GPU, EVO 860 1TB (Start up), EVO 870 pro 1TB Cache, NZXT Kraken Water Cooler, EVEA 750 3G, Fenvi FV-T919 wifi card, Fractal Design Meshify C Case Send me imac-pro.zip

Will Radeon Boost work on previous Olarila custom DSDT's?
terraform replied to terraform's topic in DSDT Patch Requests
So I have 10.15.4 So I should be safe? -
Hey there, I was recently made aware of a Boost that works with Radeon GPU's as discussed here: MaLd0n helped me out a lot getting my system all dialed in and while it is working I am feeling like my GPU isn't working up to spec and would love to get more out of it if possible. Can you see any issues with the linked guide that may arise with my system? SPECS: i9900k 8 core CPU, z390 Gigabyte Designare, 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM, Sapphire VII GPU, EVO 860 1TB (Start up), EVO 870 pro 1TB Cache, NZXT Kraken Water Cooler, EVEA 750 3G, Fenvi FV-T919 wifi card, Fractal Design Meshify C Case

Yeah, I assumed I may have to have a dual boot system. (which I don't) but good to know and as always thanks for the info! Cheers!
-
My bad I meant the Firmware... I read that Early release Radeon VII has broken UEFI GOP. Which fixed by firmware update. And I guess the first step would be to check what version of the firmware I have which I also don't know how to do thanks for the quick reply.

Hey there! How can I update (or can I update) my Radeon VII drivers on my hack? SPECS: i9900k 8 core CPU, z390 Gigabyte Designare, 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM, Sapphire VII GPU, EVO 860 1TB (Start up), EVO 870 pro 1TB Cache, NZXT Kraken Water Cooler, EVEA 750 3G, Fenvi FV-T919 wifi card, Fractal Design Meshify C Case

Great I will try to find similar in Sri Lanka and try Ill report back if I find one.

Hey, I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to make use of my unused Internal USB C header on my z390 Designare mobo. I have seen things like THIS ON AMAZON which if it wold work in a Hackintosh would I think be all I need but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with something like this? Thanks!

Hey there, I have a very similar setup to yours however I am having a hell of a time getting it up and running. SPECS: i9900k 8 core CPU, z390 Gigabyte Designare, 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM, Sapphire VII GPU, EVO 860 1TB (Start up), EVO 870 pro 1TB Cache, NZXT Kraken Water Cooler, EVEA 750 3G, Fenvi FV-T919 wifi card, Fractal Design Meshify C Case Full disclosure - I had a this system up and running (with some help) for 7 months with some bugs, but then I had an extreme kernal panic and wasn't able to get it to boot. So I have followed your instructions the best I could from this thread https://tinyurl.com/vm7j6zn and I have also followed your instructions the best I could from this thread we are in here. I am an extreme N00b who doesn't understand a lot of (most of) the science behind. Right now this I am under complete Covid Lockdown in Sri Lanka and I need to get back up and running asap. I am more than happy to donate but wanted to check with you first to see the best way to rectify this situation. Currently Boot is stalling HERE: kextd stall[0] (60s): 'AppleACPICPU' and I am unable to get into the OS and when I am in the OS The computer will not Shutdown (it restarts when I try to execute shut down) What I had done (which results in above issues): Successfully Made a USB Install image and successfully installed OS on 1 TB Samsung 860 EVO Changed all the setting on the MOBO BIOS as you list in this post. (However I did change some other setting 7 months ago and not sure where they where or if that is causing issues) Installed Clover, installing all of the drivers and such that I could find in this current version of Clover. Downloaded and replaced the Clover EFI folder with yours for this MOBO / processor HAVE NOT done anything with OpenCore as I don't understand if that needs to be done if I am replacing the CLOVER EFI folder. Right Now as I need help I thought I wold start at the beginning so I am currently re-Installed the OS from your Mojave Image and have not installed clover or switched out your EFI folder. Ill await your thoughts. thx.

Yes it is the most current version of Clover. When no internal SSD's are installed I can now get Olaria installer screen from the USB stick... So I am guessing that clover mis-installed on my SSD and it did not get erased when I tried to erase my SSD on another computer... is there a trick for erasing the entire SSD with Clover on Mac OS Sierra?
-
UPDATE - So I pulled the M.2 drive and Same Clover Boot Manager screen then I started it without the M.2, the Thumb Drive and still same Clover boot screen. HOWEVER IF I don't have any drives at all connected I do get the Gigabyte BIOS page (finally)... So now that I have access to the Gigabyte BIOS menu do we think the issue lies in the setup there?
-
Everything I have tried just leads me back to the Clover Boot Manager. 1) Many restarts 2) Removed and erased startup SSD (thinking maybe the issue was on that disk) 3) Ejected and reinstalled the Olaria installer onto my USB drive. 4) Tried to get into the Gigabyte Bios Menu by pressing F2 and that led me back to the Clover Boot Manager, so then I tried all the F buttons and none of them worked. any suggestions?

For starters I am a complete and total n00b I have always worked on and owned Macs' (for 30 years) but never attempted a PC build or a Hackintosh. SPECS: i9900k 8 core CPU z390 Gigabyte Designare 64GB - DDR4 3600 Preditor RAM Sapphire VII GPU EVO 860 1TB - Start up Drive EVO 870 pro 1TB Cache NZXT Kraken Water Cooler Fractal Design Meshify C Case ISSUE: Things were going swimmingly with this Olaria install method. https://Olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=8685&fbclid=IwAR0JLCFnEDjSFa_6USAWA7Ne_ixQVF8dRwAuLwJLABfGj7HNeYlTaPeulSg Within minutes Mojave was on my new build it was recognizing mice, keyboards and the usb ports I have tried were working. I started to install Clover just like in STEP 7 in the above tutorial BUT the clover bootloader version had changed and not all of the drivers and efi's that I was instructed to select could be found (most but not all)... I was asking for assistance on the Hackintosh group on Facebook when I got a phone call I had to take (it was a long one) when I got back the monitor was asleep and I could not wake it up... so I restarted the computer (pressing f12) however instead of being greeted with teh Olaria screen as I had in the past it was a stretched out Clover screen with my SSD the Thumb drive a m.2 drive (which did not have the OS or Clover on it (or should not have) and a recovery drive) No matter which option I picked I received the same disappointing message.... the apple logo would flash on the screen then a big black and white circle with a slash (the NO / Go Away logo) would be onscreen. So after many attempted restart / re-boots with the same ending I thought maybe it was something that I loaded on to my SSD start up disk so I popped it out of the computer installed it in an enclosure and reformatted the SSD with the hopes of reinstalling the Olaria image again.. No luck same screen with a circle and a slash. Where do I go from here? Any help is welcome!
