OS X El Capitan 10.11 bootable USB for Intel PCs

Postby mendietinha » 11 Oct 2015, 06:56

using artur´s topic as base, here it is the app store version of OS X El Capitan bootable for intel pcs:

MD5 (OS X El Capitan for intel pcs.raw) = 083b7c8789a3f84f5523d76de3c795ae

- Copy the .raw file to an USB stick

For Windows
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Create_a_Liv ... ng_Windows
or
http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

If you have error during copy, eject and re-connect the pen drive. When Windows asks if you want to format it, cancel and run Image Writer again.

If the problem persists, disable your anti-virus software, it may be blocking raw write to the drive.

For OS X

- Boot the USB drive and install.

Default boot loader is Clover
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/forum/327-clover/

If you want to use Chameleon press 1 at boot
http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/ ... on-23-svn/

UEFI boot is for Aptio BIOS only. For other BIOS use legacy boot to install, you can fix UEFI boot later

Common problems booting the installer
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5006

You need at least one free partition, use Disk Utility (in the Utilities menu) to erase it as Mac Os Extended (Journaled).

If you want to install the boot loader in this partition and you use MBR, it must be a primary (not extended/logical) partition.
Patch MBR with instructions> http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/ ... mbr-patch/
Use transmac in case you don´t have access to OS X.

Wait for the installation to finish and restart.

- Boot the USB drive, then choose to boot the HD you just installed OS X (not the installer USB again).

Post install instructions
viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1716

The boot argument (kernel flag) kext-dev-mode=1 (rootless=0) allows unsigned kexts (or with invalid signature) to be included in kernelcache. That means you need this argument to be able to install patched or unsigned kexts in /System/Library/Extensions. If you put those kexts in EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.11 this parameter is not necessary.

If you can´t reach the install screen, try disable all dsdt masks from clover.

- When you format the USB drive as FAT/NTFS you'll notice its size was reduced. Just open Disk Management (Administrative Tools), remove the 7 GB partition and create a new one using all the drive.

I had this KP in my C2Q with ICH9 chipset, fixed it using my patched DSDT.

I guess the patch that fixes it is this one

i found how to enter boot option in clover , after adding nv_disable=1 , my computer was/is able to boot and show desktop cool :D
so i retried the other computer and i injected with transmac, in the usb EXTRA folder , the file from this link http://www.hackintoshosx.com/files/down ... -dsdt-aml/ , but the boot stop before the point i was stuck ... few seconds after boot
may be i should place it somewhere else ?
i found others files for this mainboard : http://www.rampagedev.com/?page_id=48
should i use them and how ?

Hi, getting KP when first booting from USB
I have an ASRock H61M-VS motherboard and Nvidia Geforce 210 which has been running Yosemite ok (never got Applestore etc working). I have created the USB as instructed and rebooted with it as the first boot device but it kernel panics saying that it is unable to find driver for this platform with the error code 1665. Tried adding nv_disable=1 but that seems to make no difference.

Having never used Clover before I have no idea how to troubleshoot the process, any advice would be appreciated.

thanks

Hello, I love your bootables versions of OS X, Yosemite was perfectly installed on my FusionDrive with UEFI. But I think I have a problem with the El Capitan version.
With the Yosemite bootable USB untouched, Clover shows the good FusionDrive partition "Macintosh HD"
But with El Capitan bootable USB untouched, Clover only shows the "Recovery HD" partition, It works normally but I don't think it's optimal.
Is it normal ? I can post the preboot.log if necessary.
