Asus X555LB instant reboot

Post by morphix » 06 Dec 2016, 17:34

Hello guys, I have a problem reaching the install screen. I've created the USB drive, booted it up with various flags (-v -x -f nv_disable=1 and so on) but nothing works. I get stuck at +++++ line and then laptop instantly reboots.

My laptop specs:
Asus X555LB
i5-5200u
GT940m / Intel HD 5500 (tried DVMT with 64mb and 128mb)
6gb ram
1tb hdd

Here is a video so you can understand it better:

Enable Kernel PM Patch in Clover options (Binaries patching menu)

Enable Execute Disable Bit (NX bit, XD bit) in BIOS setup

Okay, so I've managed to get a bit further, but now I'm getting this kernel panic:

"unable to find driver for this platform: " acpi....

I've also tried various boot flags, nothing worked. I have applied PM patch in Clover

Also, there was no "Execute Disable Bit" in my BIOS setup (maybe because it is a laptop, I don't know)

Check if you have any DSDT patches enabled in Clover options.

Are you using UEFI or legacy boot?

I'm not using any DSDT patches (at least I didn't create or place one in the usb). I'm booting in UEFI mode

I mean Clover DSDT patches, set FixMask=0 (disable all patches) in options menu.

Also try legacy boot.

Better news, I'm moving forward. Now I get no kernel panic, but my laptop gets stuck at this screen:

It's probably a bad Clover configuration.

Try using a clean config file like the sample in this topic

I have managed to install El Capitan successfully, I had to remove some kexts from clover configuration and replace them with specific ones for my pc. I also used custom config for clover. Now my computer is working, but there is still a lot to do, patch DSDT to fix battery percentage and many other little things.

Thanks for help for all of you ;)
