Download
[Local Link Removed for Guests]

Built the same way as Lion DVD [Local Link Removed for Guests]

Access [Local Link Removed for Guests] to get download link (channel topic).

Image size: 5.020.352.512 bytes (dual layer DVD needed)

MD5 (OS X 10.8 Install DVD.iso) = 161b4ff7674a6a1d8f8967708fec686e

Contents:

OS X Mountain Lion GM Seed (Build 12A269)

MD5 (InstallESD.dmg) = 8b4869920cd740414fe6b7e3f0b1be3e

Modified files:
System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg
System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Install.framework/Frameworks/OSInstall.framework/Versions/A/OSInstall

Added files:
System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/Extensions.mkext
usr/standalone/i386/cdboot (Chameleon v2.1svn r2013)
Extra/Preboot.dmg

Preboot.dmg contents:
Extensions.mkext
org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Extensions.mkext contents:
AHCIPortInjector.kext
AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext
FakeSMC.kext
IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext
NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
PXHCD.kext
VoodooPS2Controller.kext
VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext
VoodooPS2Mouse.kext
VoodooPS2Trackpad.kext

How to use the DVD:

1 - Boot the DVD and install.

If you need, press F8 for [External Link Removed for Guests], for example:
-v (verbose boot)
-x (safe)
-s (single user)
GraphicsEnabler=yes (enable graphics card drivers)
USBBusFix=yes (fix problems with USB devices)
npci=0x2000 (use if boot stops at "PCI configuration begin")
cpus=1 (for HP with [External Link Removed for Guests], use while you don't have patched lapic kernel)

If you get KP related to ApplePolicyControl.kext or problem related to graphics card, use HackBoot [Local Link Removed for Guests]

You need at least one free partition, use Disk Utility (in the Utilities menu) to erase it as Mac Os Extended (Journaled).

If you want to install Chameleon (the boot loader) in this partition and you use MBR (not GUID, like if you already have Windows in the HD), it must be a primary (not extended/logical) partition.

Wait for the installation to finish and restart.

2 - Boot the DVD, press F8 and select to boot the HD (not the install DVD again).

3 - Install Chameleon and the Extra folder to the HD.

I recommend using Chameleon Wizard to install and create/configure org.chameleon.Boot.plist and SMBIOS.plist in /Extra folder.
[External Link Removed for Guests]

You can also download an installer or binaries package [Local Link Removed for Guests]

4 - Install essential and other kexts you may need (network, audio, etc).

FakeSMC.kext is always needed.
[External Link Removed for Guests]

While you don't fix power management you will probably need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext.
[External Link Removed for Guests]

If you use PS/2 keyboard or a laptop you will need VoodooPS2Controller.kext (or ApplePS2Controller.kext) and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext.

I recommend using Kext Wizard to install kexts.

Hello and thanks for the work you have done. I'm new to the whole Hackintosh community, so I would really appreciate help if anyone has time.

I burned the ISO image to a dual layer dvd, and it was recognized upon boot. It even started loading. However, after a while it said
"BootCacheControl: Unable to open /Var/db/BootCache.playlist:2 No such file or directory"
My computer is a HP ProBook 4530s (with Inter i3 Sandy Bridge integrated GMA3000 graphics with 6GB DDR3 memory). Apparentely it's compatible with OS X Lion, so I assumed it would be with Mountain Lion too.

I appreciate every reply.

How long did you wait? It's normal to take a little time at this stage of the installer boot.

Try typing "GraphicsEnabler=no".

Leaving it alone, the dvd drive is constantly working at least. :D

Nah, didn't do the trick. But it got further by entering the GraphicsEnabler commands, so thanks anyway.

Here's where it got stuck this time around. left it for an hour but nothing changed:

No, HackBoot must be on CD, you can use a rewritable media.

Once you get to HackBoot menu, change CD by DVD, wait a few seconds and press F5.

Ok, need to hunt down one of those then. Good to have the iPad for this thing since it's my only laptop :P
By the way, does the hdd need to be formatted into a specific file system or will Mountain Lion take care of it during installation?

See "how to use" on first post
You need at least one free partition, use Disk Utility (in the Utilities menu) to erase it as Mac Os Extended (Journaled).
If you will erase all the HD, you can partition it from the installer.

Ok, OSX is installed now, and i'm at step 2 (booted from hdd through dvd)

However, it seems to freeze at this point

Also tried to boot from hdd using the HackBoot cd, with no luck.

Or does this go away after some time?

Try moving video kexts from /S/L/E, you may need to tune some files before graphics work fine.

Boot with -s and run the commands in this topic [Local Link Removed for Guests]

After setting things up, you can re-install the kexts.

Back to step 2, boot HD through DVD or HackBoot.

Tried again the same thing, now they say that the AppleIntelHD file/ directory doesn't exist. Maybe they are different in Mountain Lion ( that guide appears to be for Lion) ?

Problems appear to start on this command

mv /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD* /intelhd_backup

Tried it several times just in case I typed something wrong

You have to type commands exactly as they are on the topic, check spaces.

I can't read the entire messages in the picture.

Please don't write a lot of posts in a row, if you want to add information and your post is the last in the topic, use the edit button.

Edit: run fsck -fy before mount -uw /

I accidently downloaded this DVD version.

I want to install it from USB.

And my Bandwidth is limited so I Cannot download it for a month now.

Is there anyway that I can load this on USB?
