	Hi all,
</p>

<p>
	After years (since Tiger 10.4.x ! ) of building and using hackintosh systems (mostly for myself) I am thinking of building one (last ?) that can satisfy my desktop needs for the next couple more years, until it's no longer possible. I am not someone that just uses a computer just for FCP video editing, I want an all-rounder, good single- and multi- core performance, enough PCIe slots/lanes for more than just a GPU, 128GB or 256GB RAM. As much as I would love a Mac Studio, it is very hard to find (I do not reside in USA), impossible to upgrade, impossible to repair yourself, impossible to find 2nd hand, and I can't spend 6000 EUR for a good-enough configuration, I'd rather spend half on something I can build and maintain myself. I will probably watercool, I already have a good case, PSU, storage, RAM, GPU, etc.
</p>

<p>
	My current hackintosh is based on X299 (i9-10980XE) HDET but I was wondering if I can build something even better/faster in 2024.
</p>

<p>
	Intel 14900KF and 13900KF do not have enough PCI lanes - in addition to the GPU, I need to connect at least one 16x NVMe RAID card and a 10GBE (or faster) ethernet card. Plus, Intel has been a mess lately with regard to its 13th and 14th generations.
</p>

<p>
	I do not know if anything newer than the Intel X299 chipset and Cascade Lake-X Xeons would be compatible for a hackintosh, e.g. I haven't seen anything with the W790 chipset, nevermind that PC users have been reporting that it underperforms.
</p>

<p>
	I do not know how far could I go with AMD Threadripper/Epyc.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Any recommendations or thoughts ?
</p>

	ONLY FOR 10TH GEN DESKTOP
</p>

<p>
	check your motherboard if your chipset is a 5xx series then you will never get igpu acceleration working (speaking from experience)
</p>

<p>
	400 series chipsets can get it working easily
</p>

<p>
	if you are buying a mobo for a 10th gen systems buy a 400 series chipset mobo only.NOTE:some gigabyte mobos have name like h410 but have a 500 series chipset you can seperate gigabyte 500 and 400 series by looking if they have V3 on thier name eg H410V3 avoid the v3s like if its the plague v3= 500 series

	Hi All, am testing macOS Sonoma on  i7 7700 + RX 570 + 16gigs DDR4 ram, B250m-d3h mobo + SATA ssd
</p>

<p>
	I have used prebuilt efi from olarila forum, thanks to the creator, pretty much all stuffs working, with few exceptions, like audio from HDMI I cannot control, also external wifi dongle support issues.
</p>

<p>
	But thats not a problem, i will fix it. Thing is, I find it kinda sluggish, like settings menu is slow, everything loading bit slower.
</p>

<p>
	So should I consider lower macOS for stable performance, or something to do with graphics card settings and stuffs to check and fix performance? I will casually use finalcut pro and some other stuffs, not professionally.
</p>

	To me building a Hackintosh was more like a hobby and fun project than anything else, I enjoyed every moment since late Chameleon through Clover till OpenCore came and destroy all the fun. Opencore is destroying our Windows based hardware yet we keep seek "support" and donate to break them further.
</p>

<p>
	By now we all know that Apple makes fast and dramatic changes to hardware and even drops support to other, so we "Hackintoshers" are always in the search for help without ending, we very often come across a problem that no one can fix, then we very often read "if you want a Mac then buy a real Mac" which is the only true fact imo.
</p>

<p>
	The community was a amusing, enjoyable and exciting until it changed to only "Donation" platforms, you open a website you get "donate, donate, donate, donate, donate, donate, donate, donate, donate, donate", we donate and all good till Apple makes a small change with the next update to have us to donate "again" to solve our new problem.
</p>

<p>
	After all, it was much fun despite donating and spending endless non-sleep nights to make things work "like" a mac, but never a real Mac and now is time to leave and enjoy Windows PC as a Windows PC.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks to everyone.

	So I've been trying to install Mac os monterey on my acer laptop for a couple hours and it kept on showing that "the update can't be installed on this computer" and I'll try to give more info as I'm pretty new to this

	CPU: Intel Core i5 4200U<br />
	GPU: AMD RADEON HD 8750M<br />
	RAM: 4GB of DDR3 Ram
</p>

<p>
	 I used Olarila for the hackintosh itself and I used balena etcher for formatting the USB, I tried reformatting my second partition with APFS and it didn't work
</p>

<p>
	If there is something I did wrong, Please let me know

	Hi, I have installed succesfully macOS Big Sur on my PC although I don't have acces to an ethernet cable in my room so I need a wifi adapter (doesn't matter if it is PCIe or USB), so which is the most economic WiFi adapter to buy? If it is possible it would be great if it is detected as a native WiFi adapter by macOS, doesn't matter if needs some patches to make it work with airport.
