Ive got a Desktop with latest Mac on it(6core intel)and an old Toshiba laptop to experience. So far 10.6.3, 10.6.8 installed without any bootflags. Just outa box the USB. 

Im trying to figure it out how to update more the laptop.

I'm trying to install 10.6.3 on an ASUS 1215n Netbook that currently has a HD with Windows 7 installed. I downloaded the .raw image for USB from the links on piratebay...Was able to get boot the installer USB via Chameleon by booting with GraphicsEnabler=no. My question is why don't I see my HD as an option whenever I open disk utility, only the Installer USB? Is that because this is not formatted as MAC OS Extended? Would I need to format this before trying to install, or at the very least, partition off something? Any direction someone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm not real familiar with mac at all so if these are stupid questions, feel free to talk spit!

I thought I saw something about partitioning the usb stick as OS Extended but I don't have a mac around to do that.

Now i have Retail Snow Leopard and Gigabyte mobo GAX38 DQ6 and ati 5770 graphic card...RME Hamerfall HDSP 9652 audio card

I try o install it with Empire EFI bootloader but graphic is not working ( i have only 1024x576) resolution and quite wrong recomended hardware ( Intel Xeon instead of Intel Quad core etc etc...) only the network adatper working fine....

The most important thing is that i need support for dual screen video....

Is there any suggestions to fix this computer? I really need it for serious job...i must replace my old Hack with this one and now i have a problem...

.I got two PCs,HP DC5700(Win8.1) and DELL DIMENSION e521(WinVista) .

.I burn the .raw file on a 16GB USB(Lexar).

.The HP DC5700 have 2 3.5 HDD(One of them have windows 8.1 and the other is empty) The dell only have one.

.I want to install Snow Leopard on my HP DC5700 because its faster than the dell and it have a Intel Processor unlike the dell dimension which have an AMD Processor.

The problem is that the my HP DC5700 wont boot in to my USB(which have snow leopard on it) it just ignore it and went straight into Windows 8.1 but my dell dimension was able to boot into my USB,how come I though this .raw can only work on intel not amd. is there something wrong with my HP DC5700 or what plz help

I'll post the steps in 3 catagories that i have performed to archive this for anyone who has trouble installing Hackintosh on similar hardware. iATKOS Install, 10.6.8 Combo Update, Post 10.6.8 Update

note: I'll be adding the mentioned apps and kext's to googledrive later. If you need them, in the mean time, try google search (That's how i got most of them).

#. iATKOS S3 (v2) DVD

#. a free FAT32 Partition (~20GB) on your harddrive. Make sure it's flagged as Primary and NOT Extended.

(For windows 7/8 users check Windows Partition Manager)

#. multishit 3.10.1.zip (Copy to USB flashdrive or windows partition).

#. Patched IOPCIFamily.kext (Copy to USB flashdrive or windows partition).

#. Legacy Kernel 10.6.8 v2.zip (Copy to USB flashdrive or windows partition).

#. Optional: Mac OS X Combo Update 10.6.8.dmg from Apple site pre-iATKOS or download via AppleUpdate after iATKOS install.

[installing iATKOS S3]

1). Boot up your iATKOS S3 DVD

2). When loaded press forward (-->) on main screen but do not continue on the next page.

3). Click Utility's > Disk Utility

4). Select your FAT32 Partition and click; Format as: MAC OS Extended (Journaled) and click format. Your FAT32 will now become a HFS+ partition. Close when finished.

5). Open Utility > Terminal and type the following commands;

diskutil list (check Apple_HFS and partition # eg; disk0s2, remember the last digit and close window.
Click Shell, open new window and type (without *);
* fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 -press enter.
* flag #(your partition number, for disk0s2 it reads: 'flag 2') -press enter.
* update -press enter if prompted for a reboot say 'N' (No). Close the Terminal.

6). Back to the OS X Installation window, continue to the third page and select your MAC drive but do not continue.

7). Click on Customize at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

8). I used the following setup:

Bootloader: Chameleon v2.0 RC5 > 32BIT > Graphics Enabled > -pci1 > USB
Patches: /Extra > FakeSMC > Disabler > RTC 32-Bit  > EVOReboot > USB (all 3 sub options) and removed Sleep Enabled (for 10.6.8 update in mind)
Kernel: qoopz 10.3.0
Drivers: SATA/IDE: AHCI & Intel > Sound: VoodooHDA > PS\2: Voodoo PS\2 > CPU: Voodoo PState > Laptop: Battery, ACPI Thermal (32-Bit) > Wifi: Broadcom > Network: Realtek RTL8139 > VGA: Intel, GMA950, (20Ae) > NTFS

9). Click Continue and begin installation. Will take 30 minutes for setup to be complete.

10). OS X should boot without any errors, wait for the welcome screen to fill in your information.

11). Find your multishit 3.10.1 copy and unzip/open and drag the .app to /Applications folder and run it.

12). Click OSx86 Software and check Kext Utility & ShowAllFiles boxes. Finish the setup.

13). Open Applications and drag the kext Utility to Dock to snap it. Locate your patched IOPCIFamily.kext and drag it to the Kext Utility icon on your dock. This will propertly replace the old file and fixes cache/permissions of /S/L/E & /Extra/Extentions. Reboot when the program is done. This will fix the PCI order that'll enable the Broadcom BCM4311 Wireless card to be recognized.

14). Upon booting you'll noticed the Wifi signal icon in your status bar, click it to setup your Wireless Network.

Trying everywhere for help lol. I had a working sl for years and the hard drive packed in. No important data as such it was kids machine. Used tonycrap install as before but this time the graphics are not right. Cant run frontrow and no cool ripples in widgets make me think I'm missing something in the setup. Sound and internet work but when I type into the search bar it half loads a page and hangs on the beach ball, I think this is all related? Tried nvenabler and it just killed the installation. Must have reinstalled 7 times trying different things. Attached pic of the about my mac info on the video card. Im pretty sure it used to give all the nvidia info. Suggestions greatly received. Btw i installed retail 10.6 then upgraded using the combo to 10.6.8 then ran multishit.

I'm building my 3th Hackintosh, (after a SL i7 870 and one CCE notebook ML i7 2760qm) with this hardware configuration:

G.Skill 3x8GB 1866Mhz Ripjaws X

AMD Randeon HD 6870 1gb 256bits (i need to plug 2 vga lcd displays samsung syncmaster b1930)

Intel SSD 320 series 160GB sata 2

I sucessful installed SL with IBoot and updated to 10.6.8 version. I will install Pro Tools 9.06, so I will stay on SL.

My network works natively on SL

The onboard audio is disabled on BIOS (I will not use, I use an external soundcard).

I only can boot using GraphicsEnabler=No (fixed using multishit)

My graphic card is recognized by system as ATI Randeon HD ni40

I cannot boot in 64 bits mode. I tryed arch=x86_64 but did not work. multishit did not solved the problem too. I see 24 gb in system profiler/memory, but the os uses only 4gb. I cant use my memories in 1600mhz, only in 1333mhz.

I would be very grateful if someone can help me on this journey and sorry for bad english…

I try to use a old desktop as a hackintosh, but when I boot the installer, I get a kernel panic, this is the error:

I use the stock iATKOS S3 V2 installer, but my hdd is set to raid0 and not ahci. I tried AHCI and it changes nothing. Is there a way to fix that even if there aren't any dsdt for my motherboard?

Things you need:

Boot cd like iboot & bla bla.....

iAtkos_S3_V2 DVD

Compaq Prisario C700 having intel x3100

Windows 7 DVD (If dual booting)

Steps

1:- Change boot order HDD to CD/DVD & boot chameleon boot menu from iboot

2:- Once you done take out iboot cd and insert iAtkos_S3_V2 and hit F5 after 10-20 sec

3:- Wait iAtkos dvd to boot (like 10-20 sec)

4:-Once you see the iAtkos dvd then use this flgs

" -v GraphicsEnabler= Yes USBFix= Yes UHCIreset= Yes "

5:-Choose this while customize

Bootloader -Chameleon 2 RC4

Bootloader - Slice

Bootloader Options > 32-Bit Boot

Bootloader Options > Graphics Enabler

USB (Select ALL)

Patches (Already Selected)

EVO Reboot (Already Selected)

Drivers > Main Hardware > SATA/IDE > AHCI SATA

Drivers > Main Hardware > Sound > Voodoo HDA

Drivers > Main Hardware > Sound > Apple HDA 10.6.2

Drivers > Main Hardware > PS/2 > Apple PS/2

Drivers > Main Hardware > CPU Power Management > Voodoo P-Share

6:- Select OK and continue Installation (Takes 20 Mins to finish the installation), Restart.

When I boot from the USB, it always fails.

If I use Clover, it says "loading drivers" with a bunch of dots, but after several lines of dots, the last couple of dots go blurry, and it restarts.

If I use Chameleon, it reverts to text after loading all of the extensions, and just sits there.

But I've a Pentium P6200 Acer Aspire 5742z Notebook

Any Ideas ?

Disable EVERYTHING first !

Even the bootloader,

Leave just these options marked: ElliotLegacyRTC, EvOreboot, FakeSMC, NullCPUPowerManagement, NForceLan,NForceAta

After installation insert the mod cd and boot os x drive once you done install latest chameleon boot loader

After done update this

Install the combo update 10.6.8 don't restart install Legacy Kernel Update and copy kext to S/L/E and rebuilt cache using kext utility and done.....!

I can't just go on from the hackboot screen loading

I have successfully installed SL 10.6 (procedure: iboot + Retail DVD Snow Leopard) on a PC Gateway DT50. specifications:

PS.GANE3.006 Motherboard, Intel I3 550 CPU 3.20 GHz, 2x2 GB RAM DDR3 1334 Mhz Samsung, 2 Hard Disk 320 GB RAID, VGA: Intel GMA HD, LAN: Intel 82578DC, Audio: Intel 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio

I have installed EasyBeast , successfully. The audio is ok (without specific kext. Need to upgrade with precise kext?). The LAN was recognized and configured through the Intel e1000e kext.

Two things, however, are not able to do (and I had to restore the configuration more times with Time Machine):

- Update VGA kext: the System Info gives me 8086:0042 (Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller), while Evotoolsx Information Lspci tells me 00:02.0 Intel Corporation Clarkdale Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 18). I tried to install the "Intel HD 2000 kext replacement" but nothing to do, what 's the right kext? The VGA work normally but i can't change resolution from 1024x768 to 1280x1024..

- Upgrade from 10.6 to 10.6.7: Any update I make (combo) + Easybeast blocks SL (kernel panic) at reboot. I have ever to reinstall with backups of Time Machine to return to the situation before.
